Basis of HALAL

O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is]

lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of
Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
(Al-Baqarah, 2:168)

HALAL
- refers to something that a Muslim is permitted to engage in
(i.e. eat, drink, use, behave, speak, act, dress, conduct and
manner).
- Arabic word which means “lawful, legal, legitimate,
permissible, allowed, admissible, not prohibited, or not
forbidden”. The term covers and designates not only food
and drink but also all matters of daily life.

Haram is the opposite of Halal which means unlawful or

forbidden.
