At the end of the class discussion,80% of the student will be able to do the following:
1. Identify the different basic drafting tools and equipment
2. Use the different basic drafting tool
3. State the importance of the different basic drafting tool

Material: Projector, Picture, Incentive Chart, T-square, Pencil, Triangular Scale, Triangles, Compass, Eraser,
Oslo paper.

B. Activity Proper
1. Motivation
-today, we will learn another lesson. But
before that, let us first play a game
called “4 pics 1 word”.
Are you familiar with this game?
-I will show you set of picture and you will
identify the word depicted by it.
2. Activity
-I have here envelopes containing picture
and strips pf papers. In 2 minute. You will
match the picture with its definition.
3. Analysis
-the students will present and discuss their
work to the class.

technical drawing is constructed with the
aid of drawing tools and equipment in order
to attain the objective in constructing
quality that are used in technical drawing
construction.

1. Drawing pencils
-this is the most important tools in drawing.
It is used widely in every formulation of a
plan or a technical working drawing. We
have a 3 types of lead of pencil
-soft lead is better for sketching.
 -hard lead is more suitable for fine layouts.
-medium lead pencil for preparing most
detailed drawing because erasing is easier
whenever correction must be made.

2. T- square
This is used as a guide for drawing horizontal
lines and serve as support triangles when
drawing other kinds of line.

the head and the blade.

Three type of T-square

fixed head,
removable head, and the
adjustable head.

3. Triangles
Used for drawing a vertical and inclined
lines.
Two types of triangles:
30x60x90
45x45x90

4. Compass
Used to draw arcs and circle. it is compose
of two legs, one of which is the needle point
and the other is the pencil lead point. The
leg with the needle is usually place on the
location of the center.

5. Eraser
The eraser place an important role in
keeping the drawing clean and presentable,
un wanted graphite marking and smudges
on the drawing paper could easy be erase
using a preferred drawing eraser.

6. Drafting Templates
are Stencils to Draw Common Shapes,
Symbols & Figures. templates are used
when standard symbols are to be drawn
repeatedly and used as guides for drawing
symbols on plans.

7. Masking tape
it is used to fastened the paper on the
drawing table, to avoid moving and flying.

8. Triangular scale
This is used to enlarged and reduce the size
of the drawing.

9. Drawing paper
This has a hard and smooth surface. A
common drawing paper used is the Oslo
paper.
