angled lines.

a. T-square
b. Triangle
c. Protractor
d. Ruler

B. Establishing a purpose Present a video showing two ways of drafting using tools and without tools in
for the lesson (ENGAGE) making plates
Material: Video
C. Presenting 1. What are the differences of the two videos?
examples/instances of the 2. Which do you think is safer to eat between the two?
new lesson 3. What are the important of using proper tools?
(ENGAGE/EXPLORE) State the lesson objectives.
Material: PowerPoint Presentation
D. Discussing new Discussion:
concepts and practicing
new skill #1 (EXPLAIN)

T- Square
-T- Square is usually made from hardwoods, the
bests are from mahoganies, but good quality beech
squares are suitable.

Triangle
-A triangle is a drafting tool used to draw accurate parallel
lines, vertical lines, and other angled lines.

Drafting Tube
- A drawing tube can be used for storing maps,
artwork, posters, blueprints, and other large-format
documents. It can protect them from folds, tears, and
other exterior elements while also making it easier
to move them from one place to another.

Compass
- The compass is an invented V-shaped instrument
that is used in drawing arcs and circles in pencil or
ink.

Drawing paper
-Drawing paper is specially prepared for drawing on with
pencils and pens. The paper is smooth, erasable, and made
from different materials including vellum and film.

Ruler
-Ruler is the most popular type of measuring tool. It is
usually 6 or 12 inches in length. It is needed for measuring
sizes and distances.

Drawing Pencil
- Drawing pencil is an essential tool in drawing as it is
used for making drawings on paper.

Eraser
-Eraser is essential for correcting mistakes

Protractor
-A protractor is a tool used in drafting to draw and measure angles other
than 30°, 45°, 60°, or 90°.

Masking Tape
- This tape sticks the drawing paper on the drawing
board. This tape is soft and doesn’t harm the
drawing paper and table if appropriately handled.

Pencil Sharpener
- A pencil Sharpener is a mechanical gadget used
for sharpening pencils.

Erasing Shield
- This is prepared of thin metal or plastic with
irregular holes. It is helpful to save the rest of
the drawing when removing smudges, needless
pencil lines, and other dust.

Drawing Table
- The drawing table is made up of wood, plastic,
or glass and has smooth surfaces where drawing
paper is placed and fixed with the help of tape.

Drafting Lamps
- A drafting lamp is a very beneficial product for
an engineer or architect. These lamps consist of
adjustable arms and use fluorescent, halogen, or
LED light bulbs. With the help of drafting lamps,
we can do our work at night, which helps us focus
on a particular section at night.

E. Discussing new concepts Activity 1: Picture and scrambled letters Game

and practicing new skill #2 Material: PowerPoint Presentation
(EXPLORE)  The teacher has divided his student into two groups.
 The teacher will provide a game scenario that the student will participate.
 To know if the student was achieved the learning objective.
F. Developing Mastery Demonstration:
(EXPLAIN) Material: PowerPoint Presentation
 The teacher has displayed various tools that he brought.
 The teacher will provide a list of tools and equipment, and allow the
students to check the ones they are familiar with.
 The teacher will select two students to demonstrate the tools and
equipment they have chosen from the form.
 To know if the student was achieved the learning objective.
G. Finding practical Material: PowerPoint
applications of concepts Discussion: Summary
and skills in daily living 1. How might the choice of materials for drafting tools and equipment
(ELABORATE) impact the overall drawing experience.
2. In what ways can the proper selection and use of drafting tools contribute to
the efficiency and quality of making your plates?
3. How have advancements in materials and design improved the
drawing process?

H. Making generalizations Material: PowerPoint

and abstractions about the Discussion: Summary
lesson (EXPLAIN) 1. How might understanding the specific properties and intended
uses of drafting tools and equipment?
2. Why is it significant for the draftsmen to know the definitions, as
well as the applications of the technical drafting tools and
equipment?
3. Do you find the hand tools and equipment useful in technical
drafting? Why?
