Assignment:

Juan Mercado Cirilia Alejandro Brigida Quintos
Alberto Alonzo
One evening, Young Jose was not listening to his mother story about the "The Moth and
the Flame" when he was attracted by two moths flying around the flame of the coconut oil
lamp. The moth, disobeying its mother's advice, flew too near the flame and felt dead into
the hot oil of the lamp. Rizal was deeply attracted by the death of the brave little moth
without noticing her mother ended the story. The light that caused the little moth's death
appeared to him "more beautiful" than ever. He justified the tragic fate of the little moth. Rizal
believed that "it is worthy for a man to sacrifice his life for a noble cause."
The moral lesson of the story is that “Don’t get attracted by the bright lights, for this will
cause you danger”. Sometimes we forget what and who we have while focusing on the
bright lights we see. Our parents or mother advices shouldn’t be taken for granted for
they/she knew what the best for us always.
4. Think about personal experience and connect to Rizal’s childhood and create a
collage picture.
When I was young, there were times when my parents argue and fight, I told myself
that when they got separated I will take all my siblings with me, because I do not want
them to be a victims of mistreatment of my parents soon to be partner. Even if I work in a
club, as long as I am with my siblings, I will sacrifice my life for my loved ones. So did
Rizal, he risked and sacrificed his life for his beloved country.
