SUMMARY

In this class we have seen that the definition of trachoma , causative agent , mode of transmission ,
incubation period ,clinical features , classification of trachoma , treatment and prevention of trachoma .
Trachoma is an infectious disease caused by bacterium chlamydia trachomatis . The infection causes a
roughening of the inner surface of the eyelids. This roughening can lead to pain in the eyes, breakdown of
the outer surface or cornea of the eyes and eventual blindness.

CONCLUSION

I hope you all understand the definition , causative agent , mode of transmission , incubation period ,clinical
features ,classification , treatment and prevention of trachoma .
Trachoma is one of the major tropical diseases that causes blindness , it is a highly contagious disease . It is
preventable by taking precautions an it is essentially totally preventable and curable.
