I – OBJECTIVE

1. To learn how to layout slope staking.

II – TOOLS / EQUIPMENTS / INSTRUMENTS

Fiberglass Tape Measure

Marking Chalk

III – PROCEDURE

1. Establish a point along the ground mark it as the center of the line then
assume elevation for the center line equal to 100.
2. Using fiberglass tape layout 1m from center line left and right with the
N C of 2 %.
3. From the center of the section, compute for the elevation of the normal crown.
Both side.
4. Next layout shoulder line for the both side 0.5m from the normal crown with
the Slp shoulder of 4%.
5. Then get the elevation of the shoulder of the fill section left and right.
6. Layout the assume elevation of the natural ground equal to
99 98 .5 98 101 101 . 5
; ; ; ;
0 −4 10 4 10
7. Compute for the missing elevation for the fill and cut slope.
IV – DRAWING / SKETCH / PHOTO
V. RESULTS / OBSERVATIONS
In this fieldwork we observe that in order for you to lay out a slope staking you must
have knowledge in solving this. We encounter some errors while doing the fieldwork due to
wrong distances that we made.

IX – CONCLUSION

We therefore conclude that in surveying field work there are many ways in
doing the slope staking but in this fieldwork we don’t use instrument such as
theodolite instead we use fiber glass tape and we just only assume some elevations
in order for us to layout the slope staking. Knowledge in computing the fill and cut
slope is a must.
