Case Study 101

This document provides information on two apartment design case studies: the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo and the Tetris Apartments in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Nakagin Capsule Tower was an early example of modular and replaceable housing units attached to concrete core structures. Each prefabricated capsule unit contained living and bathroom facilities. The Tetris Apartments were designed to provide affordable social housing through an expressive structural design that stacks and interlocks apartment units like tetris blocks.
