Mrs. Crofts’ Classroom Newsletter
The kindergarten classes sing this
Sunday, February 6, at the early service.
Please have your child meet in our classroom at
8:30 AM. We will quickly practice our song
while you wait outside. You may then proceed to
the church. If you will not be able to attend please
send a written excuse by Thursday. Thank you! 
On Monday, February 14, we will be having a small
Valentine’s Day party. Watch for more information on
the party next week. But for now do you have a small
box (such as a shoe box) you could send in for your
child to decorate for valentines? Please send them in by
Friday, February 4, so we can decorate them the
following week. Please wrap your child’s box in
construction paper with either the box and lid wrapped
separately or an opening cut into the box to allow for the
retrieval of valentine mail. Please let me know if
you need a box or construction paper.
Wanna share some love? February 1-10
Apostles is hosting a Pajama Drive to benefit
children in foster homes and/or shelters in Northern
California. If you are able to contribute you will find
collection boxes in the church entryway and in each
classroom. All sizes of pajamas are accepted since this
program cares for children from newborn to age 18.

Zoo-Phonics News
This week we will continue with Peewee p
enguin
and start learning about the food pyramid. Then we
will begin talking about Queeny quail, her babies
and their friend U
mber umbrella bird. We will
even be introduced to quotation marks and question
marks. Do you have any quartz rocks at home that
you could send in? This will get a head start on the class
rock collection I’d like to start for the upcoming letter
/r/. Children are welcome to bring in interesting rocks
anytime. If you put them in a plastic bag labeled with
their name I’ll return them to you in a couple of weeks.
Don’t forget Wednesday, February 2, is
letter /p/ dress up day! Your child is welcome
to dress up like anything that starts with the letter /p/.
On this day the children may dress up as anything that
starts with the letter /p/. We usually have a few
princesses, a pirate (no weapons please), maybe even a
penguin, pastor or a Power Ranger. Have fun finding
things in your house that will work for this, but please
don’t go out and buy a costume. This is low-key and just
for fun. 
Other Classroom News
This week we will learn what Jesus taught His disciples
about prayer. We will also see Jesus reminding His
disciples that He is never too busy for little children—He
loves us all very dearly regardless of our age.
Tomorrow, on Tuesday, February 1, we will be
welcoming a new student to our class! We can’t
wait to become friends with Mirium. She and her
family are already friends with Lance who joined
our kindergarten earlier in January. 
On Thursday we will have a film crew on campus
because our school has been nominated as a Best of
the Bay school. Please refer to Mr. Washburn’s blog
for more information regarding this special honor for
our school.
