We Love School in February!
Your children did a great job singing
yesterday! If your child was absent please be sure
to send a written excuse by tomorrow. Thanks!
On Monday, February 14, we will be having a small
Valentine’s Day party. Please let me
know if you are interested in sending in a drink,
snack or treat for that day. We don’t need much
food since the party is primarily intended to give
the children an opportunity to exchange their
valentines. A list of the children in our class was
sent home today so you can be sure not to miss
anyone.
We will be decorating your child’s valentine mailbox
this week. If you’ve not had the chance to send it
in yet, please do so no later than
Wednesday. Please wrap your child’s box
in construction paper with either the box and lid
wrapped separately or with an opening cut into the
box to allow for the retrieval of valentine mail.
Please let me know if you need construction
paper or a box.
You may want to consider replacing your child’s
change of clothes if you think he/she has
outgrown the set you sent in at the outset of
school.
If you know of anyone looking for a kindergarten or
Jr. K program for next year please welcome them
to attend our free kindergarten screening on
Saturday, Feb. 12. They can call the school office
(578-4800) for more details.

February 1-10 Apostles is hosting
Pajama Drive to benefit children
foster homes and/or shelters in Northern California. If
you are able to contribute you will find collection boxes in
the church entryway and in each classroom. All sizes
of pajamas are accepted since this program cares for
children from newborn to age 18.

Zoo-Phonics News
We will be working with Queeny Quail this week as
well as working in a few assessments for the
upcoming progress reports. You may begin
hearing about Queeny’s babies and their “quality
friend”, Umber umbrella bird.
In preparation for next week’s work with the
letter /r/ you are welcome to send in any
interesting rocks you may have for a class rock
collection. If you send them in a bag labeled
with your child’s name I will return them to you
when we are finished.
Other Classroom News
Our Bible lessons this week will see Jesus’
miraculous power in healing ten men with leprosy.
Then we will see how His forgiveness has the
power to transform lives as we meet an outcast
named Zacchaeus.
In math we will work with the heart shape,
graphing, ordering by length, and we’ll be
introduced to pattern blocks. What a fun week!
