Launching Into Week 2
If you have an orange slip attached to this newsletter
it lists school supplies that I am currently missing.
Please try to have those items turned in by Thursday.

Please remember that socks are required to
be worn with shoes. You may refer page 9-10 of the
online Parent Handbook if you’d like to review the dress
code.
A book order form from Scholastic Books is attached.
If you would like to order books for your child fill out the
order form on the last page and return it to me by
Friday, September 11. You may pay by check made
payable to Scholastic Books. You may also order
online. Online ordering gives you access to a wider
range of products and simultaneously donates a free
book to our class! Please see the attached letter for
online ordering instructions.
School pictures will be taken next week on
Wednesday, September 15. Watch for the order
form to be coming home in your child’s folder soon.

Our pumpkin patch field trip will be here before you
know it. Don’t forget you will need to have taken the
Keeping Our Children Safe Class in order to attend.
Dates and times of those classes are noted in the
Upcoming Events box.
Other Classroom News
Our Bible lessons this week are The First Sin and Cain’s
Sin and God’s Love. Both of these lessons remind us of
the devastating effects of sinful choices and also the
amazing, forgiving love our God has for us. How
wonderful to know that we and our children have God’s
grace and forgiveness when we make bad choices!
In math we will continue through the year to work with
the calendar. This week we will also begin work on
shapes and patterns.

Zoo-Phonics News
It’s time to meet Bubba bear! You are
welcome to send in you child’s favorite blanket
or teddy bear to share any time this week.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out in your own home for
anything that begins with the letter “b”. You may send
these items in to share (household objects, product
labels, magazine pictures, etc.) Please label any items
you want returned.
Did you learn from your child the sound and signal
for Allie alligator? They seem to be picking up on
the sounds and signals very quickly. By the end of last
week they were also doing a great job recognizing the
lower-case letter “a” in print.
NEXT WEEK each child will need to bring in
a small box of animal crackers—the kind in
a red box with a string. The most
commonly found is made by Nabisco. We
will save the boxes to store our Zoo-
phonics letters.
