We’re Learning Some More
In Week # 4!
We sing in church on Sunday,
September 26 at the early service. Please
have your child meet in our classroom at 8:30 AM.
After practicing the song we will dismiss the children to
sit with you in church. You may refer to the bulletin to
determine when we sing during the service. If you will
not be able to attend please provide a written excuse.

field trip to the Uesugi Farms Pumpkin
Our
Patch will be on Thursday, October
14. We will be leaving by about 8:40 AM to make it to
Morgan Hill in time for our 9:15 AM tour. The cost is
$9.00 per person which includes a hayride, the Bootsie
the Bee corn maze, a ride on the Pumpkinville Railroad,
the Pumpkintime Theatre, the Pumpkin Lab, and (of
course) a pumpkin to take home. Please let me know if
you are able to drive for that outing by filling out the
attached field trip permission form. Payment
should be returned with the form. Both are due no later
than Wednesday, September 29. Don’t forget
you will need to have taken the Keeping Our
Children Safe Class in order to chaperone. Dates
and times are noted in the upcoming events section and
on the school website.
At our visit before school I mentioned a few ways for
parents to get involved with our class. Some of you
indicated that you would be willing to come share your
occupation or hobby with the class. Let me know
when you are able to come and I’d happily work it into
the schedule. If you are interested in making copies
just let me know a day/time that works best for you.

Zoo-Phonics News
Today we complete our work with Catina cat and
tomorrow we will move on to Deedee deer. That means
it’s time to look around the house for “d” items. Do you
have any dinosaurs, dolls, or dragons to share? Bring
them in anytime! (The show and tell item on Fridays may
relate to the letter of the week, but does not have to.)
You can help your child to develop his/her pencil grip by
monitoring the “pincher fingers”—the thumb and pointer
finger. Look for activities that will strengthen the grip of
these two fingers. For example, you can challenge your
child to pick up small toys using only the pincher fingers.
If you’re working with dough, have your child pinch off
small pieces with those two fingers only. Even popping
the bubbles in bubble wrap using those two fingers will
achieve the same goal.
Other Classroom News
In our Bible lessons we will be learning about Jacob’s
Lie and Jacob’s ladder. Both of these focus on God’s
forgiveness and how He has loving plan for our lives.
In math we will focus on shape, size and we will begin
graphing in addition to our continued calendar work. It’s
the official beginning of fall this week too!
