In the world of technology, communication plays a vital role in the overall
development of an individual and also of the nation. India has the largest youth resource in the world but we often fail to utilize it completely. Unemployment ratio is high in rural areas as compared to urban regions. This doesn’t mean that people in rural areas are uneducated or unskilled. They lack the information about the jobs and also unaware of the opportunities around them whereas the people in urban areas have easy access to these information. In addition to this, students in rural areas fail to get the information about the competitive exams and also about the scholarships and privileges provided to them by the government. Farmers are also not getting the valuable price for their crops due to interventions of intermediates. All these problems are due to lack of usage of information –communication technology in villages. This gap has to be filled in order to overcome the above problems.
