The document summarizes lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic in three main points. First, it discusses learning how to stay connected to loved ones through distance and internet/social media. Second, it addresses adapting quickly to continue life at a normal pace, such as self-teaching lessons. Third, it emphasizes that prevention through good hygiene like handwashing is better than getting sick.

A pandemic is a plague of an infectious disease that has spread over an
large region. COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Even though a portion of the restrictions was lifted, the pandemic isn't over yet. Today, 02.06.2020, there are still 3 MILION active cases worldwide. So, here’s what I learned during this ongoing worldwide pandemic. First of all, I learned how to stay close to the people I love, while in distance. Even though we had to obey the health rules and remain isolated, we still managed to keep in contact through the internet and social media. Seeing new faces, and interacting with other humans outside the people I’ve been quarantined with, helped me a lot through these tough times. Second of all, I’ve learned to adapt to this situation, and the adaptation had to be done fast so we could continue our lives at a somewhat “normal” rate. I’ve learned to teach myself the lessons our teachers would normally do in school. And, to be honest, it was hard at first, but I managed to do it in the end. Lastly, I’ve learned that prevention is better than curing and that hygiene is very important. It is better to prevent getting a disease than get sick and perhaps even die. So, my advice would be: wash your hands as frequently as you can. These are a few of the things I've learned during this ongoing pandemic, now, my question for you is, what have you learned through this worldwide pandemic? an essay by Madalin Staicu
