Re-activation process of MATLAB Individual Unlimited Campus License of Expiry message

Option 1: Possible till 30th April (today) midnight


The MATLAB license is already expired on 31-March 2020 but the Grace period has been
extended by MathWorks for students, Researchers & faculties of NIT Rourkela for 60 more days
till June end.
Hence all Individual MATLAB users who have installed MATLAB in their personal Laptops or home
PC’s can still open MATLAB normally till 30th April 24:00 Hrs by ignoring the expiry message.
However, to continue use MATLAB from 1st May onwards, they need to manually update the
License file using Internet, as per below steps.
Step 1: Open MATLAB and click ‘Help’ button from the toolbar at top.
Step 2: Click on “Licensing” -> then on -> “Update Current Licenses”.. Screenshot below

Step 3: Select the License num shown and click on “Update” button.
Step 4: The next dialog box shall automatically do the needful if any permission is asked for.
In case the process is not automatic then next dialog box shall ask for options.
Pls select “Login to your MathWorks account” only to update file & pls do not select “Update
manually”
Pls use @nitrkl.ac.in email ID to activate MATLAB and not web emails like Gmail or Yahoo etc.
This whole license update process requires internet connection in the Laptop or Desktop.
Its is advisable to close MATLAB after updating and also restart your computer.
Option 2: Possible after 30th April 2020 midnight
If any user opens MATLAB on 1st May of later then MATLAB will throw an error that License is
expired and “Activate MATLAB”.
The users can follow the above steps instructions mentioned in Option 1 and this should
automatically reactivate the MATLAB.
In case the automatic error message dialog box – “Activate MATLAB” does not appear then
users need to manually perform the process.
Step 1: Pls go to your C drive below location where MATLAB is installed:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2019a\bin\win64
Step 2: Click on “activate_MATLAB” icon as per below.
Step 3: pls follow the steps 1 to 4 mentioned in Option 1 in previous page.
