Script for Reconciliation (Betrayed)

Actual Script:
(Backstory)
Desmond: They say that “Blood is thicker than Water” meaning that your friends may leave you,
but your family won’t. But when my family died in a robbery, where were my relatives? They all
disappeared and the ones who were contacted refused to take me in. So in turn, I was sent to the
orphanage. Until one day, Alex came by and told me the good news. He asked his family to
adopt me as their son. I can’t believe Alex came from someone who was just my friend now
became my brother, my partner. We were always together him and I. That is until I met this
girl….

Scene 1: Prologue

(Playing songs at a local music club)

Announcer: Muli ay aking ibinibigay, si Desmond at Alex! (claps as exiting the stage)
Manager/Store Owner: Good job boys. Here is your money. (Hands money to Alex then walks
off)
Alex: Ba’t di mo sinabi sakin na ginagawa mo to kada sabado? Pag sinabi mo lagi sana aong
sumama!
Desmond: *Sigh* Sinabihan na kita noong isang buwan pa pero kasi busy ka mag DOTA kaya
di mo naririnig.
Alex: Lul, kung sinabi mo eh di tumayo na ko galing sa laro! Pero teka lang, diba sabi mo sakin
may nakilala ka ditto na babae? Akala ko ba pupunta siya ngayon?
Desmond: Ayun nga sabi niya sakin nung nakausap ko siya. (looks to the back) There she is!
Alex: Aba pa English-english ka pa diyan! Bilisan mo gusto kong Makita!
(Both approach girl)
Desmond: Amy! Nakapunta ka nga!
Amy: Desmond! Mas gumaling ka ata ngayon!
Desmond: Huy salamat! Musta ka naman?
Amy: Eto nagrerelax lang galing sa trabaho. Gawin mo naman akong singer minsan!
Desmond: Pwede yun ah!
Alex: Papalitan mo na ko men? *from behind*
Desmond: Di bro di ko gagawin yun. Onga pala, step-brother ko. Si Alex.
Alex: *Relaxed stance* Nice to meet you.
Amy: Same. *Smiles*
Desmond: So? Upo muna tayo at kumain?
Amy: Sige gutom naman na din ako~
(The three sit down and have a chat while eating. A little while later, Amy’s phone notifies and
sees that it’s her dad telling her to come home)
Amy’s Dad: Nak Uwi na. Ginagabi ka na diyan.
Amy: *sighs and gets off phone* Sorry guys but I gotta go. Pinapauwi na ako ni Papa. *gets a
pen and a piece of paper and writes her facebook address) Add niyo ko~ *Leaves*
Desmond: I-Ingat!
Alex: Ang ganda niya pare! Sakto!*Nudges*
Desmond: Kailan kaya ako pwede manligaw
Alex: Whatever you say. *looks at watch* It’s time to go home too. Wouldn’t want mom and
dad to worry about us right?
Desmond: Yeah….. *stands up, gets guitar and walk outside along with Alex* Race ya home?
*starts to walk faster*
Alex: *starts to speed up* You know, You’ve never beaten me but you keep on trying. I’ll take
you on! Last one there has to wash the dishes tonight! *dashes*
Desmond: Hey! HEAD START NO FAIR! *follows and trails off hearing the laughter of both*

(Montage of Amy and Desmond Chatting with cute and adorable messages)
(Chat)
Desmond: Where do you live anyways?
Amy: Why’d you ask?
Desmond: No reason, I just wanna know~
Amy: Okay~ It’s *gives address*
Desmond: Awesome~
(Continues Chatting)

Scene 2: The Serenade

Desmond: This is the address she gave me *readies guitar*

Alex: She’s gonna love this. Since when have I had a bad idea?
Desmond: *sneers* Shut up. I’ll chat her saying we’re here.
*Pulls out phone*
(Chat)
Desmond: Hey Amy, why don’t you look outside your window?
Amy: Why?
Desmond: Just look outside~ You’ll be surprised
(Amy looks outside, Desmond and Alex start to serenade her)
Scene 3: The Betrayal

Alex: Des, I’m just gonna take a little walk to the store. Get me there when we’ll leave for the
gig alright?
Desmond: *Rehearsing* Yeah, sure.
(Small Scene)
Desmond: I hope she’s there today. *pulls out a piece of paper with a song scribbled* I prepared
this just for her~
(Desmond arrives at the store and sees Alex and Amy laughing and smiling)
Alex: *Notices Desmond and waves him to come closer Amy* Des, come here! You wouldn’t
believe this!
Desmond: Alex? Why are you with Amy? Have you two been dating behind my back?!
Alex: Bro no! I wouldn’t do that! You’re overreacting!
Desmond: Shut it! Our Friendship? Our brotherhood? It’s over. I don’t know you anymore.
*leaves*
*goes to the park and swigs a can of coke*
Desmond: To think that *hic* I called him my *hic* brother. So all that *hic* kindness was
equal to the girl I told him I loved?!
Eddie: If you love the girl so much, *drinks* why not just kill him?
Joanna: I’m not sure that’s such a good idea. What if you get caught? *drinks*
Desmond: Yeah, that is a problem. *drinks again*
Seth: *walks close to Desmond* I thought I might find you here. What’s this about who killing
who?
Desmond: It’s about Alex. He stole the girl I like… *close to crying and buries face*
Seth: I’m pretty sure that isn’t what he meant, I’m sure he has a good reason. But talking of
killing him is a far greater mistake than what you think he did.
Desmond: Yeah so? I don’t care if I get locked up or die. He deserves to die. *drinks*
Eddie: Yeah, anyone who steals someone’s love isn’t human. They’re scum.
Joanna: Wait, aren’t you religious Desmond? If you kill your brother you’d go to hell or
something right?
Desmond: Yeah! And if I---- *realizes* You’re right! Just thinking about killing him is already
making me sin! What do I do now?! *panics*
Seth: Des, calm down. Have you forgotten that the Lord forgives all sins?
Desmond: But would he forgive someone like me who a minute earlier plotted to kill his own
brother?
Seth: Of course He will! So stop drinking and let’s go to the Church! You two come along too so
he won’t be lonely.
*All four leave and go to the Chapel*

Scene 4: The Repentance

*All four enter and look around*

Sister Eleanor: *approaches them* Yes, my children? What is it?
Seth: We were hoping that Father Henry would be willing to hold a confession?
Sister Eleanor: It just so happens that he’s here. Please sit down and pray already to our Lord
for forgiveness.
*All four kneel at the pews and pray as Sister Eleanor comes back*
*All finish praying*
Sister Eleanor: Who of the four of you would like to go first?
Desmond: I would like to go first if I may…. *head bows down in shame*
Sister Eleanor: Do not fear my child. All are forgiven in the sight of the Lord if we have faith.
*Desmond is then led to a room to perform the Sacrament of Reconciliation*
Desmond: Good afternoon Father. *bows down head*
Fr. Henry: Good afternoon my child. Please have a seat.
*Desmond sits down and gets comfortable*
Desmond: Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. This is only my second time to confess my sins.
Henry: That has been a long time but still it is good you come back into the loving arms of God.
How have you been?
Desmond: Not so good….. My brother stole the girl I like and she likes him too…
Henry: And how is it that you are here and not him?
Desmond: The thing is….. I thought of killing him….
Henry: That is a terrible sin indeed! But fear not my child. God saves those who come to Him in
their time of weakness.
Desmond: I am sorry father. *Bows head down even more*
Henry: The Lord forgives you my child. Listen to what I am about to tell you. Might I suggest
that you talk this over with your brother first? All things might not be what they seem. Maybe it
was sweet to you but maybe it was just because your eyes were dazed by the Devil.
Desmond: *nods in agreement* I’ll talk with him after this Father. Thanks for the advice.
Henry: I would like you to pray at the altar 3 Our Fathers, 4 Hail Marys and 2 Glory be’s. And
can you promise me that you will never think of committing the sin against your brother or
anyone?
Desmond: I promise Father.
Henry: Then all will be well. Recite this my child *gives paper regarding the act of Contrition*
Desmond: O, my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. I detest all my sins because
of your just punishment, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all-good and
deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to
avoid the near occasion of sin.
Henry: *holds hands over Desmond’s head* I absolve you from your sins in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Desmond: Amen.
Henry: Go in peace my child. And may the Lord be ever with you.
Desmond: *performs the penance as the others do the confession as well*

Scene 5: Brothers Again

Alex: *Outside with Amy* He got the wrong idea. I was gonna tell him that you liked him too.
Amy: What?! But I wanna tell him that! *spots Desmond* There he is now!
Alex: Hey Desmond! *runs towards Desmond and offers out hand for a bro shake*
Desmond: *Catches the shake* Hey Lex…. Sorry for acting so stupid earlier….
Alex: *Headlocks and gives Desmond a Noogie* I know man! You always were a hot head~
Desmond: *laughs and gets free* Yeah… *notices Amy* Oh! Amy! I uh…. Sorry for acting
weird earlier. I thought you and Lex were…. You know…
Amy: *laughs* It’s alright~ As long as you apologized and said sorry its fine by me~
*short silence between the three*
Alex: Hey Des, don’t you got something to say to Amy today???
Desmond: Lex we talked about this and----
Alex: She already knows.
Desmond: WAIT WHAT?!
Amy: You are kind of easy to read Des~
Desmond: Well…. I guess I got no way out huh?
Alex: I’ll give you two a little time alone~ *walks away but readies camera*
Desmond: Uhhhh… Amy, I love you…… would you go out with me?
Amy: *Smiles* I’d love to Desmond. I love you too.
Alex: Smile for the camera! *takes pictures*
Desmond: *turns to Alex and gets surprised* That’s it! You’re gonna get it Alex!
Amy: *laughing and giggling as both run around*
Desmond: I guess I forgot what the whole quote was. It was “The blood of the covenant is
thicker than the water of the womb”. Even though we may sin against people and God Himself,
we should strive to be like Him and forgive others. No one should bear the mark of sin
forever. So let us all find peace and love in the forgiveness and grace of God.
