BSED 3B – FIL PI 21

”TO THE FILIPINO YOUTH”

In this poem, Rizal showed emphasized that the younger generations have the
capacity to lift up our motherland by encouraging and telling them to hold their
heads high for they possess talents, skills, and abilities, boosting their standards,
and raise their standards that would make their country proud.

He calls for our youth to explore, fill themselves with knowledge and wisdom with
humility; let their genius fly swifter than the wind and free them from any kind of
deception. Also, break themselves from the chains of bondage by seeing
themselves how the Spaniards prosper in our home land and see how the Filipinos
suffer from it. He encourages them to rise up and seek what their heart desires,
hone their minds in order for them to contribute something to the nation because
they are the voice of change and comfort, and gives hope and life to everyone.

Therefore, go and spread to the world how great Filipinos are and don’t forget to
thank our country for nurturing us.
