CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
ESTABLISHING A RESTAURANT IN BALETE, BATANGAS

This chapter presents the Objectives of the study, Framework, Methodology and
the Inventory of existing plans.

Balete is located in the City of Batangas in the province of Batangas which is in

the Island of luzon and classified as within Region IV-A. The small lakeside town of
Balete was, until 1949, part of the City of Lipa. In fact, it was one of the sites of old Lipa
before it was abandoned in the 18th century because of the continuing violent activity of
Taal Volcano. In the present day, Balete is a 5th class municipality with a land area of
2,500 hectares and a 2015 population of 22,661. Balete is made up of 13 barangas and
is part of the province’s 3rd legislative district. It can be reached from Manila via the
Southern Tagalog Arterial Road through the city of Lipa.

The Lomi and Goto Space was first established by the Hernandez in the city of
Looc, Balete in Batangas. The restaurant plays a role in introducing the delicacies of
Balete to the tourists that makes it a go-to place of tourists when they come in Balete.
The location offers so much to the tourists because it has a bay view of the Taal
Volcano. The exterior design of the restaurant was inspired and designed by, of course
the Taal Volcano. Even so, the interior design of the restaurant does have a healthier
and cozy environment that makes it incredibly pleasing for the tourists to eat and relax.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To make Balete, Batangas’ delicacies known in the whole Philippines.

 To provide the tourists a quality experience in a restaurant in Balate.
 To bestow caliber dishes and service to the tourists of the province.
 To make tourists keep coming back to Balete due to the food we serve.
 To make Balete, Batangas province known in the whole country.

B. METHODOLOGY Batangas
The study will use Descriptive method of research. Kerlinger (1973)
considered survey/descriptive research as social scientific research and focuses
on people, the vital facts of people, and their beliefs, opinions, attitudes,
motivations and behavior. This is appropriate for the main objective of this study
which is to attract tourists in the province of Balete, Batangas to make it well
known in the whole country with the use of establishing a restaurant. The term
descriptive research refers to the kind of research issue, design, and analysis of
data that will be applied to a particular subject. Descriptive statistics say what is,
while inferential statistics seek to discern cause and effect.
