My name is Keera. I live in Nottingham, England, but my family is

from Ireland. I am a fashion designer and I work hard all year. I’m always
busy, but in summer I don’t work very hard. Every summer on weekends I go
to my grandparents’ house because they live near a lake and I have some
friends there. I love spending time with my grandpa and grandma.
My grandpa is a pilot, but he is retired now. He makes model planes and he has a small
power glider (a small plane). In summer we sometimes fly that power glider over the lake. I like the
view of the area from the air. It is great fun to fly like birds. Grandpa also enjoys fishing. I have my
own fishing gear, so we catch fish from morning till evening and bring the fish to grandma. My
grandma is a wonderful cook because she likes cooking a lot. She cooks delicious meals and I love to
eat her meals.
Grandma has a very big kitchen with a red door. Her kitchen
always smells of freshly baked biscuits. My favorite is grandma’s
chocolate biscuit. She has a special recipe for it and she never tells it to
anyone.
Grandma’s kitchen is a special place for me. The furniture in the
kitchen is old and it is full of good memories. A very big dinner table
stands in the middle of the kitchen. A ceramic Bunny Rabbit biscuit jar is
always on the table and it is full of biscuits. Every morning we take one
biscuit from the jar and make a wish. My grandma also makes ice tea every day. On hot summer
days, she loves drinking her ice tea on the veranda and she watches us fly planes. There are some
shelves on the wall. Grandma has a lot of cookbooks and one of the shelves is full of these books.
These books are from the 1950s and 1960s. Another thing I love about my
grandma’s kitchen is the refrigerator. It’s a small one. My grandma puts a lot of
postcards and photos of me and my family on it. I look at the photos and things
on the refrigerator and I remember my childhood. It is wonderful to have lovely
grandparents.
