•For posts that are converted into an Apprenticeship (True) post please can
Appointed Managers contact their Divisional Finance Manager (DFM) to create
an apprentice position number.
•For Annex 21 conversions please can the recruitment team inform Kath who
will contact Catherine Daly - Hindmarch and advise a start date.

ADVERTISING •Annex 21 Apprenticeship post these are permanent postions unless Managers state otherwise.
•PLEASE NOTE ALL APPRENTICESHIP POST INCLUDING ANNEX 21 THE APPRENTICE WILL
REQUIRE 20% OF THEIR EMPLOYED TIME DOING OFF- THE -JOB TRAINING.

•Are aged 19 or over

ADVERTISING •Annex 21 Apprenticeship post will be paid at 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the
qualified rate.

•Has the BKSB assessment statement been included in the advertisement?

ADVERTISING •Statement to be included - An initial assessment, will be completed before interviews
to ascertain what Level Numeracy, Literacy and ICT you are currently working at to
ensure you are eligible to undertake an apprentice programme.

•Appointing Manager to Shortlist.
•Appointing Manager to contact Workforce Development to arrange Basic and Key Recruitment
Skills Builder (BKSB) assessments with the Training Provider and provide Workforce
Development with the shortlisted names and email address. Workforce Development
SHORT-LISTING will liaise with the Training Provider so User names can be set up. Where possible,
BKSB is to be carried out on the same day as the interview. The BKSB assessment

requires an IT room, should this not be possible then a paper based assessments can
be provided. The Training Provider will facilitate the assessments and provide
feedback. The Appointing Manager must book rooms for BKSB assessments and
Interviews.

APPOINTMENT/CONDIDTIONAL •Appointing Manager to inform Workforce Development the details of the Recruitment
appointed Apprentice.
OFFER
•Workforce Development will contact the Training Provider to inform them of
the appointed Apprentice and negotiate the price of the Apprenticeship.
