OBE SYLLABUS IN UNDERSTANDING THE SELF

A. VISION : CNSC as a premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region


B. MISSION : The Camarines Norte State College shall provide higher and advanced studies in the fields of education, arts and
sciences, economics, health, engineering, management, finance, accounting, business and public administration,
fisheries, agriculture, natural resources development and management and ladderized courses. It shall also respond to
research, extension and production services adherent to progressive leadership towards sustainable development.
C. QUALITY POLICY : We, at Camarines Norte State College, aiming to become a Premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region,
are committed to provide excellent services in instruction, research, extension and production that are responsive to
the satisfaction of our students and other stakeholders.
To achieve these, we shall implement an internationally recognized management system in our operations, processes
and services and shall:

• comply with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, the mandates of the College and relevant needs
and expectations of our students and other stakeholders, and the requisites of our quality management system;
• delight our students and other stakeholders by providing value-adding experiences to become well-rounded and
more competitive future leaders in the midst of global issues;
• provide our employees support to grow and achieve their full potentials in their respective fields, thereby
sustaining a competent, motivated and engaging workforce;
• develop and extend innovative technologies to our stakeholders contributing to the country’s sustainable
development; and
• establish objectives aimed at improving the efficiency of our operations, processes and services for our College
growth and development.

M. INSTITUTIONAL INTENDED LEARNING : CNSC envisions a graduate having the following attributes: professional competence, critical
OUTCOMES and creative thinking skills, technical competitive skills, productivity, social and ethical
responsibility, communication skills, interpersonal skills and lifelong learning.
N. PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES : The minimum standards for the Bachelor of Secondary Education degree program are
expressed in the following set of learning outcomes.

2. discuss the new born infant and his/her physical growth;
3. identify the characteristics of motor development and the criteria of speech;
4. acquire knowledge in emotional and social development of a child;
5. get aware of childhood interest and the influence of family relationship;
6. develop confidence, self-esteem, and empowerment to find meaningful life

Q. COURSE POLICIES : 1. Provision for Inclusive Education:


a. Students with learning needs like poor eye sights will be considered in the seating arrangement.
b. Provide learning as well as enabling environment that is available, accessible, affordable and
appropriate to the students.

e. Students will be given equal opportunities.


2. Students are expected to:
a. Students shall be graded either PASSED or FAILED. Incomplete or Conditional grade maybe
considered by the faculty concerned on a case to case basis. Provided that removal of incomplete
or conditional grade must be within (3) months after the semester. Incomplete or Conditional
Grades not Removed within the specified period shall be replaced with a grade of five (5.0).
b. Cumulative grading system in all undergraduate and graduate course/program offering will be
adopted.
c. There shall be three (3) rating periods per semester: preliminary, mid-term and final.
d. Grades shall be computed for every rating period.
e. There shall be two (2) types of grades to be computed per rating period. Tentative grade (TG) and
Final Grade (FG).
f. Three major criteria in determining the performance of students per rating period: Class Standing,
Periodical Examinations and Project.
g. The Tentative Grade (TG) shall be computed as follows:

3. On Attendance: The rating for attendance shall be based on the number of absences incurred. A perfect
attendance shall be equivalent to 100. For every absent incurred a demerit of 8 points shall be deducted
from 100 and thereafter. And for every late or tardiness incurred a demerit of 4 will be deducted. The total
rating shall be the result of the combined application of demerits to absences and tardiness.
4. Passing the Subject: In order for the students to pass, he/she must obtain a grade of 3.0 or 75%. The
failing grade is 5.0. Grade from 74 and below shall not earn any credit.
