Day 1
December 21st, 2019
Supervisor:Ms.Nutta Tunyongthong
Experience
My first day of doing an internship at Triumph
company was one of the most memorable days
of my time at work. I was so excited and arrived
too early on my first day so I had to wait for my
supervisor for around 15 minutes until she
arrived. I decided to introduce myself to
everyone in the office. After being introduced to everyone,
my supervisor began to mention some brief information
about the company including the company background,
services, E-commerce and the products. After that, she
gave me a tour around the company and we went to almost
every section of it. Also, I found myself very lucky because
she let me into the lab. First, I have to wash my hands, put
on a proper lab coat uniform, wear a mask and tie my hair
up every time before entering the lab. Inside the lab, it was
separated into 3 rooms which was a mixing room, filling
room and the packaging control room. Inside the mixing
room, all cosmetic formulators were doing the two different
shades of matte foundation step by step and there were a
lot of chemical ingredients on the list of paper that were put
in the foundation. Personally, I really like to wear makeup
because it makes me feel more confident but this made me

recognize that all cosmetic products seemed to be bad and harm my skin a lot. By each
step of making foundations, I found out that it is very important to be both accurate and
precise in order to get the same and exact color tones and formula of the foundation.
Everyone in the lab was very open and they were happy for me to contribute to the work
in the lab as much as I wanted to for the next day. This instantly made me feel
comfortable and definitely feel as though I was part of the team.

What I’ve learned: I got to know about how cosmetic formulators work in cosmetic
companies. It was a job that involves working with the chemicals by following their
cosmetic recipe and putting them together in proportion to create products. This is very
interesting and I think it is a fun job with lots of opportunities to be creative and make
products that women use almost everyday like makeup.

Day 2
December 23rd, 2019
Experience
On this day, my internship took
place in the filling room, which is
a room for a QC manager to
come and check the quality of the
foundation before filling it into the
package. Also, i’ve asked my
supervisor for permission to take
some photos around the room but
due to the company privacy so she rejected. This room maintains a clean and orderly
environment, and the temperature of this room should always be 25°C to keep the
cosmetics fresh. Today I was responsible for sealing the package of foundation by using
the packaging sealing machine. At first, I was afraid that I would seal it incorrectly
because it was my first time to use this kind of machine and if the packaging is not

sealed properly when the customers buy the product, it might reflect poorly on the
manufacturer. However, this machine was used easier than I thought. All we have to do
is to put the product accurately on the slides of the machine and we can adjust the
speed level so it took only a few minutes to pack dozens of sachets with a good quality.
Throughout the day, I could finish sealing those packing around 70 sachets of
foundation which count as a big amount for the first time trying on this machine. I feel
like performing only a single or limited task for a long time leads me to boredom and
tired very easily.

What I’ve learned: it is important to always keep the lab clean to prevent the dust and
bacteria getting inside the products. The company only gets one chance to make a good
impression on the customers so if a product doesn’t meet certain criteria they may get a
serious problem later after placing the product on the market.

Day 3
December 24th, 2019
Experience
This morning, I arrived at the company at 7:20am
before the time started about 10 minutes. I sat in the
filling room again for the entire day and was assigned
to clean and make sure that all of the foundation is
removed out of every little corner and curve of the
sachets before sending it to the packaging control
room. There were around 300 sachets in front of me
to be done and I have to use the napkin with makeup
remover applied on in order to clean every single one
of it. However, I have completed only half of them
before lunch time. After that, I left for lunch and then came back to the lab.

For the afternoon’s task, they gave me a different one from the morning part. I was
responsible for sticking the barcode on the back of the sachets. Also I had to stick it for
two rounds since there were 2 shades of foundations and the barcode might be different
one. While I was doing my first round nearly complete, one of the staff came and told
me that they had given me the wrong barcode so I had to remove the barcode and redo
all of it again for the entire afternoon. Sticking the barcode seems to be a very simple
part but however using the wrong ones can have a far-reaching implication.

What I’ve learned: what starts as a relatively small issue can quickly escalate into larger
problems.

Day 4
25th December, 2019
Experience
Today’s work took place in the packaging control room and it was also my last day in
the lab as well. I was assigned to fold the packaging box which will be used to contain
the foundation sachets. All the staff here were very professional at folding it. They have
taught me how to fold the box step by step and it was easy to follow by. They told me
that one of the common mistakes that people make while folding the box is not taping
the bottom of the box securely enough for it to hold a certain amount of sachets. There
were 150 boxes to be folded today and I'd enjoy folding it.

Day 5,6 and 7
26th - 28th December, 2019
Experience
For the last 3 days of my internship, I stayed in the
accounting section at the office.
I was responsible for double-checking all sales
invoices every month of this year from a folder. The
most basic purpose for a sales invoice is to keep a
record of the company's sale. It provides a way to
track the date the product was sold, how much it was
paid and any outstanding debt. My job is to make sure
that the total invoice from both the sales invoice paper
and the customer statement are exactly the same and
not found any errors. On the first day of checking, I felt
very dizzy when I had to focus on the differences of 2
sheets of paper and see the repetitive patterns for the
whole day. I paid attention in every detail and tried to
be as accurate as possible. I checked all of the
payment information that was included on the invoice: customer’s name, invoice
number, the date of the invoice, product value and VAT and I didn’t find any mistakes at
all. Everything is correct and very accurate. On my last day at internship, the company
was celebrating the year-end party at lunchtime. They brought me some pizzas and I’d
enjoyed it a lot. I was so grateful to have had the opportunity to intern here while still in
highschool.

What I’ve learned: Inaccurate invoice seems to be a common mistake that is righted by
simply fixing the error. However, this will make customer’s relationships suffer when
they continually see invoice discrepancies and it will become difficult for them to do
business with us.
