Key Points

Today, 24th Aug, was the first lecture in which at the very beginning we were asked to ponder over the
importance of leadership in the organization and come up with our own views on it. Then we learnt
about the skillset one needs to possess to become a successful leader.

Further we carried out an activity in which each and every one of us got an opportunity to share the
leadership skills, values which we had portrayed in the recent past. It was quite an insightful exercise as
we got to work as a team and listen to different stories of every individual. We got to learn that leaders
are also ought to be good storytellers.

We also learned the EFQM business excellence model which helps us to self-assess ourselves and work
on those areas of improvement.

My Reflections

My key takeaways from this session were about what are the necessary skills a leader should be portray.
The importance of a leader to be a binding force within his/her team. The visionary mindset and
problem solving capability even in times of hardship is a very crucial skill a leader should possess. The
leader should also be able to empathize with his team members.

I got the opportunity to listen to different instances where my friends stood up for the challenge
presented in front of them and successfully overcame it. All in all it was a very intriguing, communicative
and fruitful session for me
