Surakarta, which is also known as Solo city, is one of the historical cities in
Indonesia. It is located in Central Java, Indonesia. Solo has so many places that make this
city become well-known in Indonesia. The place that I mentioned such as Keraton
Kasunanan (The local palace), Sriwedari, Pasar Gede, The Heritage, The Colomadu, etc. My
favorite places to visit are Keraton Kasunanan. Keraton Kasusnan is a place where the
Sultan, the king or Kasuananan Surakarta, live with their family. This palace is also open for
public. Visitor now can come to the palace from Sunday to Monday to see what inside the
palace. If you are lucky, when you come to the palace, you will see and watch some ritual
done by the people inside the palace. This ritual is like an old tradition that is still done. The
location of the palace is in the center of the city, so that it eases the tourist reach the palace.
Another thing that I like from the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta is the environment and the
people. Even though the Palace is located in a crowded city, the Keraton environment is still
very well maintained and organized. The people in the palace are also very kind and friendly.
People who visit will feel comfortable and feel at home. If you have time to visit Solo, don’t
forget to visit Kareton Kasusnan.
