STUDENT EVALUATION/ACTIVITIES (Module 1)

1. Policies are related to the entity’s business functions by establishing the standards to attain the
optimum goal of the organization. These policies are the guidelines of the employees to improve
their work, measure the output they’ve created, and to what must be done for certain
circumstances. Policies are set by the administrators and managers to restrict and lessen the
threats that might disrupt the normal operations and the foundations of the business that was built.

2. In my opinion, a Human Resource Development Manager must have the following

characteristics:
a. Profiling – a good HRD Manager can be able to profile the potential employees by some
questionings and good observation. This will help in making sure that the employees
being hired are competent, trustworthy and dependable. To an existing employee, he
must be able to know their skills and specialization to know where to place the employee.
b. Communication skills and analysis – the HRD Manager can be able to test the
communication skills by simply listening to how it responds to the questions asked.
Communication is a key factor that can lead to an efficient working group that results to
an excellent output.
c. Observant – HRD Managers must be very attentive to each detail an applicant nor
employee possesses. This will help him in doing a profile to the person.
d. Excellent policy setter – a good HRD Manager will be able to get the best of the best in
interviews and such by relating to the standards. These standards will guide him to know
who’s deserving to claim a role in the organization.

3. Policies can be based to help regulate the organization. These are the standards which must be
followed by the administration before making such decision. Also, these policies are known to all
employees and was made to not make such abusive threats that might endanger the company. In
order to attain the optimum fairness, equality and faith to each employee especially the decision
making body, the decision maker must conform to the existing policies and/or may change some
of it to attain the best possible results that is fair to each.

4. The factors that affect the success of personnel policies are the following:
a. The policy setter might not conform to such and will be seen by its co-workers so they
might think that what he’s doing is good but in reality, is a very bad course of action.
b. Sudden change of policies without coordinating with the concerned parties will lead to an
uproar of frustrations.
c. When the policies are not that implemented strictly, the organization’s goals might be out
of reach in the end after all.
d. Proper administrating of such policies will lead to a better nor best output and everyone
must not do something that is beyond the scope of the policy.

5. The study of policies helps me in thinking what are the best possible actions if ever there are
breaches nor inconsistencies to such. The policy might be a rule nor a standard but it must not be
implemented to degrade something or someone in the workplace. Policies also helps me in
knowing what will be the best for the organization while I contribute my talents and skills to it so
in case I encounter some events of threats and frauds, I know in myself that I followed what is in
the standards and I followed, for me, what is right and best for everyone.
