• What is a Toxic Relationship?

• Behaviours, are emotionally and physically damaging.


• Destructive and dysfunctional.

• Physical or verbal abuse.

Constant:

• Calls/texts
• Control
• Manipulation
• Judgement
• Critissism
• Narsissism
• Drama
• Disrespect
• Jealousy
Lack of:

• Communication
• Support
• Trust
• Independence

• Negative/hostile atmosphere
• Unhappiness
• You can´t do anything right
• Why people “stay” in a T.R?

• Low self-steem: You don´t deserve


someone better.
• You think you can change Them
(unrealistic expecations).
• Emotional dependence/Fear of being
alone.
• Fear of the future:
• Only reality you know.
• You are constantly threatened .
• Economic dependence.
• You are ashamed.
• How to manage/leave a T.R?

• Ralize you are in a T.R.


• Stop normalizing bad Behaviours.
• Establish limits.
• Learn to communicate.
• Work in your self-steem.
• Learn to love yourself.
• Put yourself and your feelings first.
• Ask for help!
• Tell family/Friends your situation.
• Someone I know is involved in a T.R!

Signs that suggest your friend is with an abusive


partner:

• You feel on edge/anxious around your Friend´s partner.


• Their partner are frequently mad at Them.
• You don´t see your friend anymore.
• Lost their confidence.
• Make excuses for their partner´s Behaviours.
• How to step in?

• Approach the situation calmly.


• Don´t be judgemental.
• Remind your friend you have good intentions.
• Ask Them about their concerns.
• (If you have expecience with T.R) Tell your
story.
• Be pacient.
• Don´t push for and inmediate solution.
 “Love should never cost you your peace. It should never cost
you your joy. It should never cost your happiness”.

 “If there’s more negative in the situation than positive,


something has to change”.

 “Love is not discomfort, nor dependence, nor fear. It is freedom


and satisfaction. If we do not feel that, then it is not love”.
