Experiment 1: Effect of thermal conductivity of fins on heat dissipation

Hypothesis: Fins made from higher thermal conductivity materials increase the rate of
heat dissipation
Access the example at: Example → Industrial applications → Heat fins

Figure 1: Screenshot of the Heat Fins example. You may modify the configuration, as
necessary.

Experiment 2: Natural convection between two horizontal plates with different

temperature
Hypothesis: The positions of hot and cold plates and magnitude of temperature difference
affect heat transfer between these plates.
Access the example at: Example → Convection → Natural convection with different
temperatures

Figure 2: Screenshot of the natural convection example. You may modify the configuration,
as necessary.

Experiment 3: Effect of reflectivity of reflector on heat transfer between source and

receptor
Hypothesis: A higher reflectivity lead to a better heat transfer between source and
receptor.
Access the example at: Example → Radiation → Reflective radiation heat transfer

Figure 3: Screenshot of the Reflective radiation heat transfer example. You may modify the
configuration, as necessary.
