Covid-19: How to keep the mind healthy
Covid-19 disaster has stopped everything. From the workplace to the global economy everything stopped

by this massive disaster. People have to stay home to maintain lockdown for the sake of reducing disease.

During the lockdown, most of us facing some mind related problems. As a result, they are spending an

unhealthy life and become sick in various diseases which leads them to affect COVID-19. Media reports

have signaled dramatic shifts in sleep, substance use, physical activity, and diet, which may have

subsequent downstream mental health consequences. We briefly discuss the interplay between health

behaviors and mental health, and the possible changes in these areas resulting from anti-pandemic

measures. We also highlight a call for greater research efforts to address the short and long-term

consequences of changes to health behaviors.

There are so many factors for which we become mentally ill. At first, we are worrying about thinking

about our future. As we are getting negative news every day, we consider that the future will be darker.

We are also thinking that we will have to face more bad things. Many of them lost their jobs especially

men involved with the industry. As a result, they are concern about their future. This pulls them to mental

illness. Secondly, Health anxiety, fear of death, fear of losing loved ones, loss of social connectedness,

loss of employment, and homelessness are some of the social stressors that may even trigger serious

mental illnesses like depression or anxiety in previously healthy persons and likewise contribute to added

burden in the mentally ill. As we don’t know, how this situation will go to the final point or what is

waiting for our future, these factors are pulling us into deep worry and thus we always remain mentally

ill. Thirdly, getting worse of the COVID-19 situation is making our tension. Finally, interruption in daily

routine creates a negative impact on our minds.

So, we discussed these facts that affect badly our minds. As we determined points that affect badly, we

have a solution for a healthy mind on our hands. First, we should stop worrying about the future. The

government, health workers, doctors are always with us to fight with the pandemic. They are front line

warriors. They are working hard to keep us healthy. We should also stop worrying about our relatives

because they are also getting help from front line warriors. Secondly, we should also stop thinking about

our job. Because the world economy is downgrading, most of us are losing jobs. So, the government, big

industries are thinking about our jobs and the economy. Thirdly, we have to forcefully adopt to our new

home-made daily routine. In this daily routine, we have to manage our time mixing both productive work

and cheerful moments.

There are a lot of benefits to doing this. During the lockdown, you can earn productive skills remaining at

home. Adopting with this situation may make a person more mentally strong. During the lockdown,

meditation at home makes a person feel cheerful. Listening to favorite music tracks, watching videos,

shows, movies on Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video may keep a person stay away from anxiety.

One should also reduce spending time with the news. According to research, “one should listen or read

the news less than 2 hours in a day”. One should also have prayed to his God/Allah/Ishwar. Physical

exercise should be taken for the sake of a healthy body & mind. One can also spend his/her lockdown

time by doing some creative work such as Drawing, writing, illustrating, or cooking something new.

But there are a lot of issues to apply these advantages. At first, most of them are too expensive. Most of

us can’t afford them. If we mostly depend on internet related things to spend the time it will cost a lot.

Moreover, the misguided of the method of physical exercise, meditation can lead us in the wrong way or

worse situation. These things also may create racism between rich & poor people. There is only a solution

and that is to rise a helping hand.

Finally, we have to face both advantages & disadvantages side of the pandemic. But we have nothing to

do except keeping hope & praying. Until then, Stay safe & stay healthy.
