Social Function of Hortatory Exposition
1. To tell people about the dangers of the spread of the corona virus.

2. To persuade the readers or listeners the symptoms that appear and indicate the
corona virus

Thesis : The writer's point of view about the topic discussed is Corona virus or
COVID-19
December 2019, the world was shocked with an outbreak of a respiratory virus in the city of
Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province of the republic of China, recently known as the
novel coronavirus or COVID-19. This virus belongs to a group of coronavirus that can infect
human. The virus spread so rapidly that it has become a worldwide pandemic within only two
months.
● Arguments : The series of arguments which strengthen the thesis stated before(use
of connective words,such as firstly,secondly,finally,however,in addition,etc )
There are, however, some problems associated with this corona virus.Firstly, there is the
increasing crime rate. Some local tourists might be an easy prey because, not only are they
in unfamiliar territory and therefore less able to take care of themselves.

Secondly, another major problem is health. With greater mobility comes greater danger of
spreading contagious diseases around the world. One carrier returning home could easily
start an epidemic before their illness was diagnosed.

In addition, This virus spread so easily through droplets from coughs and sneezes. It might
expose anyone within 1 meters radius from the person who is already infected by this virus
and turn them into virus carrier. The worst part of all this is that we may not realize that we
have been infected until it is too late, because most cases show that symptoms are showing
up within 14 days of exposure to the virus and within these days we may have infected more
people.
● Recommendation : The writer gives recommendation to the readers.
You have to realize as Indonesian people, must obey governmental rules for the good of the
people and so that the corona virus does not spread anymore. Don't leave the house if it's
not too important ,dont panic and keep healty
