BOOK REVIEW
Components of the review: (Video presentation)
• Show the cover of the book.
• Summary of the thesis or main idea(s) of the book.
• Introduce the author(s), including the author's title and place of work, and some indication of who
the author is.
• Discuss the major idea/s and supporting details per chapter.
• Summarize the intended purpose of the book and how it contributes to improving academic life
and operations and to the discipline of college planning generally.
• Assess the author's use of primary and/or secondary sources.
• Describe the way the author approaches his or her topic, the rigor of the research and scholarship,
the logic of the argument, and the readability of the prose.
• Evaluate the book's merits, usefulness, and special contributions, along with shortcomings you
think are necessary to point out.
• Mention at least one memorable aspect of the book, so that at the end of class we will remember
something distinctive about your book.
• Limit the presentation to less than 15 minutes.

TUKLAS BATAAN GUIDELINES
1. Video must be more than 3 minutes
2. Music must be copyright free. Download a copyright free music from
YouTube.
3. Videos must be original.
4. Pictures must be original.
5. The audio-visual material must showcase any of the following features of
Bataan - intangible culture (tradition and practices, dances, games etc),
historical places, tourist spots, local foods and/or local heroes or prominent
personalities. The material can also be a combination of the said features.
6. The material will be posted in the Tuklas Bataan page on the agreed
schedule. It must carry a very good title in capitalized letters and a caption
explaining what the audience will see in the material.
7. After posting, the group must work collectively to have the material
commented, liked (or other emoticon) or shared by other people. Points will be
earned based on the number of comments, shares or likes (or other
emoticons).
