Mr. Antonio Guterres

Executive- Secretary
United Nations
405 East 42nd Street
New York, 10017, USA.

Dear Mr. Antonio Guterres:

Technology is considered as a part of civilization and better human quality of life. However, in the
last year, we must revaluate in which aspects we have to improve as society to protect our planet
from environmental damages. Pollution, depletion of resources and global warming are the results
of technology mismanagement and it demonstrates lack of measures to stop it.

I consider technology contributes to environmental degradation because of constantly machines

invents and human demands of it. Overexploitation of fossil fuel, burning of bushes, deforestation
and usage of chemicals becomes an environmental threat. Also, emissions of large quantity of gases
such as CO2 in the air by large industries causes air pollution. Disposal of waste into the rivers by
industries is also an environmental negative effects.

In my opinion, Unites Nations could emphasize to developed countries the necessity of reinforced
environmental protection and, by the other hand, all governments should create policies that
stimulate all the society to take conscience about the danger industrialization make to our planet and
what we could do to prevent negatives effects of technology around the world.

Sincerely,
Nelly Gutiérrez Fontalvo
