Stage 1: Technology and its effects on environment

Dear Secretary of the United Nations

I want to share with you what I think about technology and the implications for the
environment.
In my opinion, I think technology has had both positive and negative effects.
On the positive side, technology is useful in many areas, in quick access to information,
promoting innovation, facilitating communication, simplifying tasks, facilitating access to
education, and improving administrative and industrial processes.
The effect of technology on the environment is so great that have existed climatic changes
around the world since past years.
There is damage in global warming, if the poles continue to thaw, the sea level will
increase significantly, the extinction of plants, birds and a greater propensity to diseases.

My recommendation is to end pollution, deforestation and overexploitation, to be aware of
the risk involved in altering our environment. If we continue to destroy the planet, we will
have to face the consequences in the future. We can all be part of taking care of our planet.

Stage 2: Technology and global warming

I believe that the new information and communication technology prompts a change in
consumer behavior. In recent years, there have been numerous changes, such as the mobile
phone, tablets and other digital devices. Regarding the environment, it also has its benefits,
such as renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind or geothermal energy, they do not
run out and in general, they pollute less than non-renewable sources, such as coal or oil. .
Technology in terms of environmental impact, such as public works and mining explosions
change the ecosystem in which many animal and plant species inhabit. Pollution is another
effect, given the increase in energy consumption has led to an increase in the proportions of
some gases, such as carbon dioxide, sulfur oxides, etc., near industrialized areas. This
generates air pollution, such as global warming of the planet.
Stage 3: What can be done?
Our individual actions can contribute positively to environmental sustainability, through
commitment and awareness.
We can reuse paper; recycle by separating the waste, recycle batteries, mobiles, light bulbs
that contain mercury, computers, oils and toxic products.
Report ecological crimes such as illegal logging and forest fires and support programs to
help defend the environment.
The solutions start from our hands, placing our grain of sand.

Stage 4: Write a letter
