Quality requirements
and
Test instructions
General requirements
We aim to have a very high standard on both the quality of the garment as well as in
the production. In addition to the quality tests we will also perform inspections during
production. As a supplier to us you have to fulfil our quality requirements. Be sure
that all parts of the garment meet the quality requirements.

Ethical choice of material or production:


• No PVC material is allowed to be used in coatings, transfer prints or other
products neither in packing materials
• No real fur articles
• Leather and suede must only be from farmed animals that have been bred for
meat (not only for the hides) as cow, buffalo, goat or pig. The animals must
also be treated well during transportation. Information about origin of leather
and the tannery needed before accepted.
• Not use merino wool without certificate that mulesing has not been used.
• No down or feather filling if the origin is unclear and cannot guarantee, only
picking from ducks or goose that are used for meat.
Separate documents for evaluation and for confirmation of origin also for other
fibres will be available when applicable.
• No flame retardants to be used.
• No antibacterial treatment added or in capsulated into the fibres.

Product safety requirements

It’s the responsibility of the seller to;


• Inform any of the sellers’ sub-contractors, dyeing mills, printers or other parties
involved of the requirements. Fabric from stock-market or fabric suppliers must
also be informed or to be tested.

• Control that the product meets the requirements


Bulk fabric can be used as the first check before production starts.

• Follow the label instructions for different laws and regulations, see “Rules and
Regulations - Care label manual” for Weekday Brands AB .

• For all orders follow the restrictions according to EU-directives, especially


product safety restrictions (2001/95/EG) and REACH (1907/2006/EG).

• Follow regulations in USA, Canada, Australia, Korea and Japan for example:
The Hazardous Product Act. and Technical Standards and Safety Authority in
Canada.
Law for the Control of Household Goods Containing Harmful Substances Japan
Regulation according to Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act - CPSIA in
US .
• Follow the restrictions of chemicals used in the production according to EU-
directives and also in all the countries that the products will be sold, see
appendix document “Chemical restrictions and Environmental targets”

Deviations from the requirements without approval from us are deemed to be


defective. In such cases we reserve the right to cancel the order, to claim
compensation.

Test instruction
Tests according to our instructions have to be performed at the suppliers’ expense.
Tests are recommended to be made at a testing institute appointed by us. Routines
pls contact Quality dept. for further information The merchandisers can ask for test
made by independent laboratories if necessary. The result of the test is to be sent to
the merchandiser or handled by Quality dept. on suppliers’ expense. This has to be
done before or at the same time as the counter sample approval not to delay
production.

Chemical analysis
Chemical compounds and substances which are restricted or prohibited in garments
will not be accepted in our products. See appendix “Chemical restrictions” and
concerns all parts of textiles, clothing, leather goods and shoes.
Analyses are recommended to be made at a testing institute appointed by us.
Routines pls contact Quality dept. for further information.
Analyses according to our instruction have to be performed at the suppliers’ expense.
The merchandisers or buyers can ask for test made by independent laboratories if
necessary or be handled by Quality dept.

Fabrics to be tested:
1. Fabric with a square weight below 90 g/m2
Fabric with loose construction, even heavier, we
recommend to test fabric with weight less than 100 g/m2
to be sure that the requirements are fulfilled.
2. Long pile fabric and Fabric with raised surface.
All kinds of fake fur but also other with brushed surface,
please do risk assessment and send for test.
3. No PVC coating used, to be confirmed

Finish
The garments must be free from dirt and stain and free from loose threads.

The garments must show no twisting and be free from seam puckering.

All seams must be finished properly and ends must be firmly secured and no seam
damages.

The garment must not be packed whiles damp!

Labels for size, logo and care instructions must be sewn-in without damaging the
fabric and be readable after wash/cleaning.

Buttons shall be securely fastened and correctly positioned.

Small parts or decorations must be securely fastened.

Zippers must be chosen to be functional even after garment wash/dyeing.

Accessories and trims must be controlled for relevant tests and not include harmful
substances.

The garments, trims and accessories must not have sharp edges or sticky parts in
contact with the skin.

Children and Baby Special regulations
Not to be ordered to US or Korea
Children safety Cord and drawstrings on children clothing, restriction in

Small children, no drawstrings in the head/neck area and no
knot/toggles are permitted at the ends.
No loops at the back side of the garment nor at the lower hem,

Special requirements for Sun glasses
Accessories in general
We aim to have a very high standard on both the quality of the garment as well as in
the production. Accessories must be controlled for relevant tests and not include
harmful substances.

Each sunglass and technical documentation must fulfil the requirements for CE
marking according to European legislation and United States Federal Regulations
and Australian/New Zeeland regulations.

Test instruction
Tests according to our instructions have to be performed at the suppliers’ expense.
The test made by independent laboratories must be included when ordered.

Chemical analysis
Chemical compounds and substances which are restricted or prohibited in
accessories will not be accepted in our products.

test) must be sent to Cheap Monday asap (includes
sampling according to MIL STD 105 meeting AQL 6.5
General inspection level II etc.). Document must
accompany the delivery of goods.

The order number and description must be included in


the reports and certificate.

Labeling of Sun glasses


CE, Made in …, order.no, must be permanent printed on the frames.
Other information such as 100% UV protection + filter cat. on a sticker.

Folder can be with explanation of the filter cat. and the standard EN 1836:2005 /
A1:2007. In the folder lay-out also Weekday Brands address, RN and CA number
and information “not for direct viewing of the sun” and cleaning info.

Deviations from the requirements are deemed to be defective. In such cases we


reserve the right to cancel the order, to claim compensation.

Amendment for China portions:
From AW10 we will start to test according to GB18401-2003 updated new standard in
force from 1st of August 2011 – GB 18401-2010

We would like all out garments to fulfill the requirements but we also know some of
the criteria can be difficult to reach for different denim products.

For SS11 we will include test routines in our Quality requirements.


Any deviation from our ordinary quality requirements must not be below the Chinese
requirements even if extra information tag is added. The Standard applies to garment
before wash and warning hang tags will not be enough.

Product class A: Babies – not applicable we will not include.


Product class B: Products with direct contact to skin (also shirts, skirts, trousers)
Product class C: Products without direct contact to skin.
