SCOPE OF WORKS

The Sub-contractor’s responsibilities and obligations under the sub-contract work consist of works
state below but not limited to the following:-

The Sub-Contractor shall provide all materials as stated elsewhere in this condition, labour,
accessories, tools and equipment, supervision and management for the fabrication, assembly, erection and
dismantling of formwork for in-situ casting; taking delivery and installation of rebar; the casting and
curing of in-situ concrete to the Sub-Structure and Super-Structure, E-deck, Ancillary Buildings including
all ancillary and secondary RC elements.

a) CONCRETOR

1) Concreting works to pile cap, slab, beam, column and wall and etc but not limited to the said
and vibrators, construction joints, expansion joints and etc are included ;

Casting of concrete to the building block and basement carpark including foundations,
pilecaps, basement/ retaining walls, planter boxes, etc and any other locations not
mention but necessary for the completion of the whole project.

- After casting of lean concrete, the Sub-contractor shall provide labour for dewatering of
surface water and shall ensure that the lean concrete surface is free of loose particles,
water puddles and foreign materials prior to carry out waterproofing works. Equipments
for dewatering shall be provided by the Contractor.

Cleaning of concreting areas prior to casting of concrete.

The Sub-Contractor is required to clean the surfaces for concreting, place/cast and
vibrate concrete including curing.

- Supply labour and materials for hacking and make good any honey-comb surfaces
using materials and methods as specified by the Project Manager.

- Supply labour only for protection of completed concreting works e.g. covering of
staircase with plywood or other approval materials and other areas.

- Casting of any joints of precast elements, etc. which may require two or more
operations of casting.

Wood trowelled smooth on all horizontal concrete surfaces.

- Placing concrete to the ground slab or foundations of temporary works e.g. temporary
building, tower crane and passenger hoist foundation.

To provide own vibrator engines and rods including petrol.

The provision of adequate protective cover in the event of

rain. To clean up the concrete bucket after concrete

pouring.

Air compressor & hose, generators, diesel, toolbox (used in lifting and hoisting), and
concrete buckets shall be supplied by The Contractor but all others materials and tools
which are deemed necessary for completion of works shall be provided by the Sub-
Contractor.

The Contractor reserves the right to decide the method of placing concrete either by
concrete pump or crane.

Concrete pump shall be supplied by the Contractor, but assistant for operator shall be
supplied by the Sub ContraGtor, and the cancellation charge and stand by charge will be
paid by the Sub-Contractor.

If the Sub-Contractor fails to carry out the scope of works as in accordance with the
sub- contract, the Contractor shall charge the Sub-Contractor at prevailing rates with
administration charges of 10% for works carry out on behalf of the Sub-Contractor.

The Sub-Contractor shall bear all costs of repairs for any defects due to the Sub-
Contractor negligence.

- All other scope of works which not listed but not limited to the above to be refer to
Appendix 9 — Preambles for reinforced concrete works

b) STEEL-BENDER

1) To supply labour for steel reinforcement works to pile-cap, slab, beam, column and wall,
concrete but not limited to the said and spacers, tying wires are included:

The Contractor will decide the standard length steel reinforcement bar or factory cut
and bend bar to be used.

The Sub-Contractor shall be responsible for removing loose rust and mill scale from
rebar before installation in the works.

The Sub-Contractor shall provide all necessary distance blocks, tying wire, spacers, bar
chairs, temporary fixing and supports for installation of steel reinforcement bar.
Reinforcement steel bar chair exceeding 300mm high shall be supplied by the
Contractor.

Steel reinforcements shall be delivered to site in cut and bend, the Sub-Contractor shall
fabricate, place reinforcement bars, caging fabrics, weld mesh, spacer and bar chairs.

Supply labour for cutting, bending and placing of reinforcement or fabrics to the
building block and basement carpark including foundation, waste sumps, inspection
chamber, grease trap, retaining wall, planter box, water features etc and other locations
not mentioned but necessary for completion of the whole project shall deemed included
in the sub-contract.

The Contractor shall provide steel reinforcement cut and bend schedule and quantity
for delivering of rebar. However, the salary of steel foreman to be borne by Sub-
Contractor.

Clear all unused steel bars and fabric reinforcement to the ground floor at designated
locations directed by the Contractor.

Supply labour to cut, bend, fix and place reinforcement to the foundations of temporary
works e.g. tower crane, passenger hoists, temporary buildings, etc. shall deemed
included in the sub-contract.

The Sub-Contractor shall provide all trimming bars around slab, wall and beam box-up,
pour strip opening and the like as shown on coordinated shop drawings including all
necessary coordination with other relevant sub-contractors. The Sub-Contractor shall
also cast back any temporary openings in the structure required by the Contractor.

The Sub-Contractor shall accurately maintain the position of the all starter bars
particularly for precast elements and shall install and locate at the exact positions any
missing or out of position starter bars with such rectification of the said missing or mis-
located starter bars being to the full approval of the Contractor.

- All starter bars exposed to weather shall be coated with cement paste or protected with
vinyl pack and the like to prevent rust and such materials shall be provided by The
Contractor.

- All labour cost incurred for the erection and dismantling of bar-bending shed shall be
borne by the Sub-Contractor.

Appendix 9 — Preambles for reinforced concrete works

c) CARPENTER

1) The formwork systems that The Contractor intended to employ in every structural elements
as stated in the attached cost breakdown are included;

To supply labour for erection, dismantling and transferring of formwork for the
building block ,basement carpark and E-decks including foundations, pilecaps,
basement/ retaining wall, planter boxes, water features, etc and any other locations not
mentioned but necessary for the completion of the whole project shall deemed included
in the Sub-Contract.

The formwork shall consist of conventional metal / timber, aluminum forms, system
table- forms, vertical forms or combination of formwork system.

To be responsible for unloading, unpacking, taking delivery, handling, hoisting, storing,


lifting, moving and distributing of all the Contractor’s provided system and loose form
materials to the respective location of installation as and when delivered by the
designated Suppliers to the site.

- To be fully responsible for any lost or damage for the system & loose forms material/
equipment which are supplied under the rental agreement between the designated
Suppliers and the Contractor.

To clean, pack and return the rental forms materials/equipment in a reasonable


condition upon completion of the sub-contract works.

- To be responsible for the removing of all packaging, proper keeping and/or disposal of
all packaging materials and proper returning back of the said provided system form to
the designated Suppliers, ie, shall provide labour to load all returned equipment/
materials onto trucks

- To comply with the Contractor’s protocol for receiving, control and management of form
materials.

- Setting out profiles to all building blocks other structure not mentioned. The Sub-
Contractor shall be responsible for the accuracy of the setting out.

- To install all hold down bolts on slabs/walls to accommodate props/strutting works and
all necessary scaffolding for formwork installation purpose and subsequently cutting off
upon removal of props/strutting works.

- To calculate and submit the quantity and sizes of timbers and plywoods required for the
project. If the metal forms are used, then wastage control for the metal forms shall be
2% and clips at 2 %, In the event that the wastage exceeds the allowable due to any
reasons whatsoever, the cost of any excess and all associated cost shall be backcharged
to the Sub- Contractor.

The sub-Contractor shall provide sufficient notice to the Contractor allowing adequate
time to procure and deliver the required materials and/or accessories. Upon delivery of
the material and/or accessories, the Sub-Contractor shall be fully responsible to check
and endorse on the delivery orders.

The Sub-Contractor shall be fully responsible for the patching of form-tie holes with
approved material to the satisfaction of the Contractor immediately after the striking of
formwork.

The Sub-Contractor shall provide slab, wall and beam box-up, opening and the like as
shown on coordinated shop drawings including all necessary coordination with other
relevant sub-contractors. The Sub-Contractor shall also provide temporary openings in
the structure required by the Contractor for any purpose.

The Sub-Contractor is responsible to carry out the setting out and transfer of X/Y lines
and datum at each level for the sub-contract works. In the event that the Sub-Contractor
is unable to carry out the survey works to satisfaction of the Contractor. The Contractor
shall have the right, upon giving notice to the Sub-Contractor, to carry out the requisite
survey works themselves and back-charge the Sub-Contractor for the time spent by the
Contractor’s own surveyor and/or the cost of appointing other surveyors, to carry out
the work. The Contractor shall provide X/Y lines and reference level at each floor.

The Sub-Contractor shall construct the structure to the required accuracy and tolerances
and shall be fully responsible to rectify any misaligned or bulging structure or any other
defective works at the Sub-Contractor own cost. The method of making good the
defects shall be subject to the approval of the Contractor. If the making good is not
satisfactory, then the costs of any subsequent taking down, breaking up and removal,
reinstatement of works affected including the Professional Engineer’s design fee shall
be solely borne by the Sub-Contractor.

The surface finish of all structural elements shall be free of cracks, tie holes, pinholes
or any defects and must be ready to receive subsequent finishing.

The internal wall and ceiling shall be finished with 3mm thick skim coat. Any bulging,
misalignment or irregular joints shall be rectified by the Sub-Contractor before hand
over to the wet works other Sub-Contractors.

To supply labour to apply all necessary waterproofing materials to all joints between
cast in- situ and precast components, except sealant to staircase.

To supply materials (ribbed mesh to required height) by Contractor and labour for
construction joints by Sub-Contractor.

- To supply labour for forming drops, kerbs, plinths, lintol and etc including all
secondary structural are deemed to be included.

Erection of precast components prior to concrete casting and misalignment shall be


rectified by the Sub-Contractor without any cost implication. Handling, erection,
dismantle and bringing down of formwork to designated place as directed by our
Project Manager. The Sub-Contractor should sort out and pack the formwork as the
contractor’s requirement for returning.

The Sub-Contractor should examine the formwork carefully when they are transferred
to the Sub-Contractor. When send back the formwork to renter, if the renter claim for
damage, all costs incurred shall be reverted to the sub-contractor.

- Concrete surfaces must be hacked due to out of alignment of formwork. All works must
be within tolerance from each side of structural opening need to be allowed to avoid
unnecessary hacking of structural elements. The labour cost incurred for hacking of concrete
surfaces due to misalignment of formwork shall be by the Sub-Contractor.
