CHECKLIST once admitted

ACCEPT THE ADMISSION AND PAY THE ADMINISTRATIVE FEE


The Administrative fee is not refundable and can be paid with credit card or international bank transfer (payment details are
available in the form that can be downloaded from the Administrative fee section).
DEADLINE TO PAY THE ADMINISTRATIVE FEE June 20th (the sooner, the better: tax code will be calculated only for students who have paid)

Don’t forget: : students awarded with a merit-based scholarship will be given a different deadline to pay the administrative fee in order
******* to secure the scholarship itself. Of course, you can wait for the scholarship results to be announced before paying.

PREPARE DOCUMENTS FOR THE ENROLLMENT*


This is a very delicate issue and it’s better to start as soon as possible taking care about it.
The language certificate will be necessary as well; otherwise, it will be impossible to complete the enrollment.

UPLOAD YOUR PASSPORT AND GET YOUR “CODICE FISCALE” (TAX CODE)
If you haven’t done that yet, remember to upload your passport as .pdf file, in the Personal Details section of your Online
Services, in order to obtain your Tax Code through the International Students Office.
DEADLINE TO UPLOAD YOUR PASSPORT June 20th (the sooner, the better: without a tax code, your student card will not be issued)

APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA (for Non-EU students residing abroad only)*
Get in touch with the nearest Italian Diplomatic Representative and ask for deadlines and documents required in order
to obtain your visa.
DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA July 24th (deadline set by the Italian Ministry of Education)

Don’t forget: the Admissions Office will soon send all the Italian Embassies and Consulates the list of the admitted students, only if
******* they have uploaded a valid language certificate, so make sure you’ve uploaded yours.

ARRANGE YOUR TRIP TO ITALY*
The Welcome Week is usually held just before the beginning of classes. For the Academic Year 2019/2020 , this means
around mid-September so we would suggest you to plan your trip in order to be here by then.
BEST TIME TO ARRIVE IN MILAN Beginning of September
Don’t forget: the participation to the Welcome Week is not mandatory (although highly recommended) and is organized
******* according to the academic calendar. As soon as this is deliberated, you will be informed about the most important deadlines

MAKE A BUDGET*
Check our website for information about the cost of life in Italy, especially Milan, the most expensive city of this country.
Remember to consider the costs related to university, which you can find in detail in a specific, official document available online.
Don’t forget: the cost of living may change according to your habits and needs. Take this into consideration when making a budget for

FIND AN ACCOMMODATION*
Politecnico di Milano owns several dormitories for its students. Check the related website and find the most suitable
option for you, considering that the online booking will start in June.
Don’t forget: do not rely entirely on our residences. PoliMi hosts thousands of students and it can be hard to find a place, especially if
******* you are coming in the second semester. Looking for a private flat, to share or on your own, could be the best solution.

HEALTH COVERAGE IN ITALY*
Whether you are European or non European, you will need to make sure you have a health coverage valid for Italy. Health
insurance is mandatory in order to apply for the Residence permit. Check the website for further info on how to proceed.
