INTRODUCTION
Tourism Promotion Services is the product of years of experience in the tourism industry and years of
teaching tourism marketing to Tourism Management students at the tertiary level. With the implementation of
the k-12 curriculum, this book is our contribution to the growing body of knowledge and research in Tourism.
Overview of Tourism Promotion Services. Lesson 7 to12 cover an overview of the tourism industry
and its operating sectors. These lessons will also discuss the different types of the tourism and travel
motivations that complete the tourist experience. Aside from that, the different sources of information and
promotional tools that are essential in promoting tourism products and services will be discussed.
This quarter enumerates some of the 20 Top Philippines Destinations based on general popularity as a
way of familiarizing the students with different tourist places within the Philippines. The set of lesson in this
quarter shows the beauty of the Philippines through an elucidation of special features of different provinces. The
quarter closes with a lesson on knowing and accessing customer need and wants.

Boracay
Whereas all other destinations are provinces filled with attractions, this town which is an “island
paradise” is a destination by itself. Boracay Island is known for its 7- kilometer beach with fine white sands, aptly
called White Beach, Its sand is so fine that even if you walk the shoreline barefoot at high noon, your feet will not
burn. There is a wide variety of water activities in the island such as snorkeling, island hopping, parasailing, and
watching the sunset from the ocean aboard a blue-sailed boat.

Lemoni Café and Restaurant – Located inside D’ Mall, this restaurant specializes in fresh, healthy gourmet dishes
and delectable desserts.
Cyma – This is a Greek restaurant that is originally from D’mall, before it opened branches in Metro Manila.
barLOResto Lounge - It is a beachfront dining destination located at the Two Seasons Resort
Jonah’s Fruit Shake & Snack Bar - It is the most popular shop that sells fresh fruit shakes
D’Talipapa – It is where you can buy fresh seafood or meat foe a cheaper price and have it cooked in one of the
market’s restaurant that offer the service.

The Ati-atihan Festival done to honor to Santo Niño. It is celebrated on the third week of January. There are street
dancing, parades competitions, and many other colorful happenings. The fiesta is celebrated in Kalibo on the
island of Panay, 3 hours away from Boracay.

Approximately 10 hours from Metro Manila, Camarines Sur, or more fondly referred to as CamSur,
boast of its white sand beaches for water sports activities and MT. Isarog for those who prefer inland activities.
Its capital, Naga City, houses and pilgrims once a year when the feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is celebrated
during the 15th of September. Like the rest of the Bicol Region, it shares the reputation for popular Pili nuts.

Cebu City
A busting metropolis, it is the hub of commercial activity and the gateway to trade commerce, and
tourism in Central and Eastern Visayas region. Cebu City is known in Philippine History as one of the first
strongholds against the Spaniards, where Lapulapu fought Magellan. One of the oldest cities in the country, it is
where you can find the oldest street in the Philippines, Colon, which to this day is lined with small to medium-
sized stores which people today still patronize for hardware items and other retail products. Cebu City is also
where you buy best dried mangoes and the famous dried, salted fish called danggit.

Davao City
One of the busiest centers of commercial trade in Mindanao, Davao City has been growing in popularity
among business who wants to expand coverage from Luzon down to the south. With trade, tourism also grow
through the years, it being the place of the towering Mt. Apo, fondly called the “Grandfather of the Philippine
Mountains” and the home of the endangered and regal Philippine Monkey-Eating Eagle, a bird endemic to the
Philippine forests and our national bird. If you have also the nose for it, Davao is where you can enjoy the
sweetest, smelly durians in the country.

Blue Post’s Boiling Crab and Shrimps – the restaurant offers the ambiance of a beach resort. The food is

Blugre Café – this is a homegrown coffee spot for what has become a quintessential

Marina Tuna – this restaurant is famous for preparing tuna in 10 different ways
Claude’s Le Café de Ville – it is one of the most elegant restaurant in Davao, it was built back in 1229,
and is said to be the first French restaurant in the city
Tiny Kitchen – the restaurant’s name refers to its original outlet, which was really tiny. Its popular dish is
the seafood paella and its cakes and pastries.
