REVIEW OF RELATED STUDIES

As stated by Ashish (2013) that if students must ensure academic success throughout
the entire year, then it is important to ditch bad study habits and establish good ones.
Nevertheless of the age or academic level, employing an effective study strategies can make
all the difference between acing a class, barely passing or worse and failing miserably. In
today’s most common study methods or habits among the students can lead to utter
disappointment despite best efforts and intentions.

Moreover, in correlation of this study to the said study stated by Ashish (2013) that
retaining a stable and effective study habit could highly effect the outcome of the academic
performance of a student. Consistent academic achievers are more likely to be more focused
and pays more attention to studying than those students who are not. There are a lot and
different kinds of study habits, but it won’t show its effect if a student will show no effort in
the end.

According to Adeninyi (2011) wherein it states that maintaining a good study habit
allows students to study independently at home and aspire for higher educational career.
Good study habits help students to attend class very often and do so on time. It also helps
them to submit their assignment or projects on time, read or prepare very well for tests and
exams, take down notes and develop the points independently which most of the consistent
honor students have those qualities. On the other hand, unserious students do study anyhow
without specific techniques, and are most likely to perform below average (Agba, 2013).

Correlating the study of Adeninyi (2011), it shows that being a consistent honor
student requires a good attitude in order for the study habit to become effective and shows
good performance in the end. Consistent honor students are more disciplined in order to show
good performance in class than students who does not care well for their grades or those who
are not aiming high grades tend to be just passive and dependent as correlation to the
statement of Agba (2013). The performance of an academic achiever only depends to
themselves whether they would choose to become consistent with their effective strategies in
studying or not.
