BSCRIM 1-C

After I listened to the presentation of Sir. Jaycar Turla I’ve realized for the
past years my knowledge about the military courtesy and discipline were poor and
not on point when it comes to proper courtesy and discipline. On the presentation, I
learnt the distinction of courtesy and discipline. The proper execution of salute it
should be rendered at a distance of 6 paces, side steps, standing at attentions during
important ceremonies, observing proper decorum and protocol, answering to a
person of authority with due respect, the different classes of warning calls and how
the proper position of flag should be held.
I got introduced to the importance of military customs and saluting is the
most important form of military courtesy. It is satisfying to learn something on this
field because it teaches us how to show respect and honor men in uniform. Military
courtesy and discipline means excellence of good manners and politeness in
dealing with other people because it shows concern and respect for others. It
inspires me more to become one of these men in uniform.
