Thus, coming up with this Module in Philippine Government and Constitution, consisting of five (5) Learning Packets with the following topics: 1. The Concept of the State; 2. Government; 3. Constitution: Importance and Purpose; 4. The 1987 Constitution; and 5. Social Issues Concerning Philippine Government. This instructional material will serve as your potential companion of knowledge in your journey to discover SS 410- Philippine Government and Constitution in which case the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 74 (2017) provides that this course should be taught for fifty-four (54) hours intended to reinforce students’ basic knowledge on government, infusing substantial material on the natural and meaning of state, classification of government and rule of law. It is emphasized further in the CHED order that you must be acquainted with the constitution as the supreme law of the land for it directly and constantly touches every aspect of your lives as citizens of the state. As such, it is likewise expected from all of you to render due respect in the constitution by understanding your rights and exercising your corresponding obligations to others with so much diligence and reverence. Hence, your social involvement in your society as a well- educated student and as a citizen of the state is the best gauge on how far you have truly understood this course in SS 410.
