BRAINSTORM
1. What is the vision, goals, and objectives of special education in the Philippines?
Vision
The department of Education clearly states its vision for children with special needs in
consonance with the philosophy of inclusive education, thus: “ The state, community and family
hold a common vision for the Filipino child withs special needs. By the 21st century, it is
envisioned that he/she could eb adequately provided with basic education. This education should
fully realize his or her own potentials for development and productivity as well as capable of
self-expression of his or he rights in society. More importantly, he or she is God loving and
proud of being a Filipino.

Goals
The goal of the special education programs of the Department of education all the over
the country is to provide children with special needs appropriate educational services within the
mainstream of basic education. The two-prolonged goal includes the development of the key
strategies on legislation, human resource development, family involvement and active
participation of government and non-government organizations. Likewise, there are major issues
to address about attitudinal barriers of the public and efforts towards the institutionalization and
sustainability of special education programs and services. Provide support services, vocational
program and work training, employment opportunities for efficient community participation and
independent living,

Objectives
Provide a flexible and individualized support system or children and youth with special
needs in regular class environment in schools nearest the students’ home. How should the
parents be involved in the education of their children with special needs. Implement a life-long
curriculum, to include early intervention and parental intervention and parent education, basic
educational programs on vocational training or preparation curriculum for college. Make
available an array educational process and services: the Special Education built “ school within
the concept” as the research center of children and youth with special need: inclusive schools for
regular schools and special and residential school, homebound intrusion, hospital instruction and
community-based programs: alternative modes of service delivery to reach the advantage
children in far-flung are undeserved barangays.
2. How should the parents be involved in the education of their children with special
needs?
 They have the sole power in guiding and providing the education on his or her
child at the first place. They will send their children in schools where growth
and development pivotal to them as a student. They sometimes feel the first
acceptance and belongingness to their parents, when they should do such
efforts that make these children feel appreciated and recognize their existence
and not bring the ambiance of their differences upon the other child. By this,
they are feeling more motivated and empower to study and bring the best out
of it.

3. Identify steps undertaken by the government in relation to children with special


needs.
 The steps undertaken to promote SPED education to those children who need
a special action and needs are they have first exclusive program for them.
Different style, techniques and curriculum are offered to them as they are the
prioritization when it comes to this field. More so, to full realized that we do
need some programs for our special student is that we also laws to provides
the best education for them. One of those are the “Special Education Act of
2008”- aiming for all students with special needs to receive basic education as

We do agree to the answer we have taken in a certain number, that the government have a
prior program for children with special needs, and it is right and just. Promoting diversified and
variation of the students is really a key to move froward and for the better Philippines. Giving
them their outmost needs, materials and equipment is really the right things to do. It is a way of
acceptance that even you are blind, have mental retardation or anything, the right as a Filipino
child would not be less because they are also human too.
