➢ Plumbing system is illustrated by the installation of pipes and fixtures that will
immediately dispose waste in various forms. These types of wastes are conveyed
and disposed of by two types of drainage piping, the soil pipe (D) and the waste
pipe (W). The soil pipe collects the discharge from water closets and other fixtures
while the waste pipe only collects wastewater from all fixtures except from water
closet. To prevent the occurrence of siphonage, backflow, and retardation of flow,
vent pipes (V) are installed to maintain the atmospheric pressure on the piping
system.
➢ Drainage pipe shall be cast iron, galvanized steel, galvanized wrought iron, lead,
copper, brass, ABS (Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), or
other approved materials having a smooth and uniform bore, except:

PVC, or other approved materials having smooth interior waterway of the same

used.
