In this guide we should have a better understanding of some topics related to change and

2. EXERCISES

1. Once you are ready, record the meeting with the other members of the
Management Committee via Google Hangout. Each member should consider the
advantages and disadvantages related to the relocation and follow the instructions of their
role card. Then, as a group, you have to decide whether or not to proceed with the
relocation.

2. Write an informal email to a colleague of InStep who could not attend the
meeting but needs an update. He wrote to you as soon as the meeting was over, so you
need to reply telling him about the decision made regarding the relocation of the
company. Make sure you consider the following:

 His name is Stephen Halligan

 Use the expressions for informal emails
 Include the reasons for the decision
 Include all parts of an email

Subject: Decision for Instep’s relocation

Good morning Stephen,

According to the latest meeting, as you know we discuss the

proposed relocation with two senior managers from the Paris subsidiary
and independent relocation consultant, the reasons why we took the
decisions for the relocation are the following.

1. Relocation will bust profits by reducing cost in the long run.

2. The open set up offices will increase the communication between staff
members.
3. Employees will enjoy different facilities such as top floor cafe, fitness
center and swimming pool promoting happiness and motivated minds.
4. Tax incentives from the local government will increase our profits.
5. We discuss about our foreigner’s visitors and concluded that they could
enjoy the surrounding countryside and cheaper hotels.
6. Also, the company will provide our employee’s vans to carry their
belongings, as well as subsidized meals in the canteen, childcare facilities, gas subsidies
and flexible time hours for the staff with children.

I’m very pleased to announce that based on the results of the

voting, we are agreeing with the relocation after we listen all the points of
view. Also, we will recommend the board directors to proceed with the
relocation.

Best wishes,
Michelle
