TOPIC: Consonant Digraphs sh-
FACT/ TIP: A consonant digraph is formed when two consonants are
joined to make a new sound. When joined, the individual consonant
sounds cannot be heard.
PRACTICE EXAMPLE: Say the consonant digraph sound. sh says /sh/ as in
ship, sharp, shut.

Read the story.
There is no game as exciting as cricket. Shane and his brother, Chad
hurry to their homes every afternoon to get ready for a game of lovely
cricket.
The boys like to play cricket in the church yard because it has a cricket
pitch. This afternoon Shane is wearing his games clothes. He does not
want his uniform to get dirty.
Today the weather is good. The children play three matches with their
friends. When it is time for the game to begin, Father comes to watch the
game. Chad hits the ball into the bush.
The game stops for a while. Shane and his friends look for the ball but do
not see it. Father gives them another ball to play the game.

COMPOSITION
