1. Identify the theme of the story, short film, song and short text.
2. Analyze each short text, short films, song, poem and determine the theme.
3. Know the difference between good and bad theme.
4. Value and apply the good lesson we learned from the story, film, text and song in real life.
Play a music “Count on Me” or “You’ve got a friend in me” Let the kids
familiarize themselves with the lyrics of the song. Ask the things that they
remember from the song.
1. Do you have any friends?
2. What do you like about your friend?
3. What do you remember from the song?
Discuss the theme using anchor chart. Give examples with the use of short
texts.
Values integration:
We have good and bad themes we can learn from the story. However, we should
always try to imitate and practice the good ones that we learn from it and try not
to do the bad ones.
Example #1:
Ben and Carl are different. Ben likes English, books, and quiet places, but Carl
doesn't like them. Carl can sing and dance but Ben can't. They like each other
and talk every day.
People are different but
What did you learn from the story? they can be friends.
Group the students into 4 groups. Let them pick one strip of paper inside the
box.
Give them at least 7 minutes to watch and analyze the theme by answering
questions too, so they’ll come up with the desired theme. Let them also have
more than one theme.
Presentation:
Let them present in front of the class their group work with the use of different
organizers.
