Job Title: HRT Data Management Lead, AVP


Company: State Street

The position is responsible for providing functional and technical management for Global HR technology data services
delivery transformation. This includes leading the data management function and its day-to-day operations on data
administration, self-service support, auditing / data integrity, data integration / interfaces, security processing, and
continuous process improvements. This position acts as GHR data steward who ensures compliance with enterprise
wide data governance and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

Leads the HCM data management activities for the day-to-day operational work including developing, managing and
supporting self-service functionality (ESS/ MSS), payroll, benefits, etc
Proactively identify and create operational efficiencies through centralized administration
Lead the team with a focus on operational accuracy and effectiveness, and appropriate controls being executed
Troubleshoots data issues and offers guidance to staff when issues arise.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Develops, manages, and supports self-service functionality (ESS/MSS). Design self-service features based on future
needs to improve user experience.
Act as data Steward and ensures compliance with enterprise data governance
Accountable for integrity of worker data. Develops and maintains standards and controls to ensure data integrity and
compliance in HCM applications.
Lead the creation and continued maintenance of audit packages to improve data integrity and compliance.
Lead a team to develop a rigor to identify root causes of data quality issues (e.g, from ESS or MSS or integration, etc);
partner with key stakeholders to recommend and implement continuous process improvements across HR by leveraging
technology, enhancing business process design, training, or influencing policy/ business practice changes to improve
data quality and improve user experiences.
Ensures that audit queries are performed on a daily basis to verify consistency and accuracy of data. Resolves data
errors, monitors process controls and troubleshoots data integrity errors.
Liaises with Audit and Compliance on data risk audits and ensure compliance.
Qualifications

BA/BS, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, computer science or other engineering discipline
preferred
5 to 7 years HRIS experience, with 3+ years management experience in data management/ administration, required.
Strong functional/technical skills in data management/ administration required
Superior detail orientation, organization and analytical skills
Strong Excel skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with diverse people and individuals at
various levels within the organization
Thrive on simultaneously operating at multiple levels and managing multiple responsibilities
Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic ecosystem with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making assessments for decisions required

The role will provide Human Resources system administration, including requirements gathering, solution design, and
system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. This role serves as a point-of-contact and subject matter expert for
various functional areas within Workday which may include Core HR, Recruiting, Performance Management,
Compensation, Learning, Organization management, and Position Management.

Job Responsibilities:

Support configuration and troubleshooting of business processes in one or more of the following: Advanced
compensation, Recruiting, Core HR, Position Management, Learning and Performance / Talent Management.
Support the development, testing configuration, and implementation of new projects, enhancements, and interfaces.
Responsible for translating business needs to system design, conduct system/data analysis, and participating in testing
and deployment activities.
Work with functional team members to understand requirements and communicate system capabilities/limitations
Partner with key stakeholders to create business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed
functional specification documents, test plans and test cases
Load, manipulate, audit, and report on data and make complex mass changes or other direct data updates to data, as
considered necessary including building EIB spreadsheets and loading data
Ensure all process/system design satisfies all audit requirements and mitigates risk.
Review workflow and validation rule changes for effected business processes
Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports in the form of dashboards, summaries, and trends, etc. to HR and Business
leadership as needed.
Work closely with HRIS support and process/program owners to conduct ongoing system optimization efforts and
regression testing for new releases
Project manage small to mid-size initiatives which typically span multiple systems; ensuring consistency of
administration, effective communication to the organization and operational excellence.
May serve as program administrator for one or several key programs (e.g. Comp Admin, Talent Admin)
Research, diagnose and resolve issues (e.g. - end-user, business process, security, etc.)
Maintain proper change management documentation to satisfy the company’s internal/external audit controls and
compliance practices
Support major Workday releases, to include researching new functionality and education the HR team on
enhancements as applicable.
Collect and analyze critical program data for HR processes and programs using queries from Workday
Create reports and dashboards in Workday including ability to create calculated fields.
Assist with broadening internal knowledge of Workday configuration through knowledge transfer training and
documentation; Ensure documentation is current on all new and existing HR applications and processes
Actively participate in the Workday Community, training and regional user groups to ensure awareness of current trends
and innovation
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, human resources, or related field.


5-7 years relevant work experience; prior financial services experience a plus but not required.
Consulting or Services delivery experience and/or a demonstrated knowledge of process re-engineering and change
management is highly desired.
2+ years of experience as a Workday analyst or administrator responsible for configuration, testing, and support of
Workday.
Experience with Workday report writing, EIBs and calculated fields
Exceptional analytical skills and experience working with large complex data sets and reports.
Must be highly organized and have the ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of
the situation and the “big picture”
Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools with advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated experience with working with at least one Workday module – Compensation, HCM, Recruiting,
Performance
Strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with all levels and communicate effectively with both a technical audience
and business users
Problem solving skills as seen thru the ability to apply systems/workflow thinking to solve business issues within HR

 Primary Responsibilities:
o Serve as a primary contact for GHR in capturing enhancement requests and new
functionality; maintain master list of demand for HRT department. Ideal
candidate may be able to develop/commission a basic demand management
application in SharePoint.
o Review and assess project requests and work with SME’s to document initial
estimate of timing, scope, and effects on systems, business, employees, and
clients. 
o Conduct weekly project status meetings with technical solution architects and
SME’s to maintain timelines and forecasts for technical deliverables
o Conduct bi-monthly release management review sessions/ demos in accordance
with State Street’s control framework. Collect and store key approvals and testing
artifacts prior to release.
o Liaise with off-shore resources and owners of other global or regional
applications to coordinate releases in accordance with State Streets release
schedule.
o In collaboration with Solution Architects and SME’s, conduct Workday’s semi-
annual release by reviewing release notes, requirements gathering,
documentation, ensuring deployment plans are in place, including communication
and training. The individual may also be responsible for developing project plans,
release schedules, communications and training materials.
o Play key role in maintaining an inventory of departmental operating procedures;
organize and execute monthly / quarterly compliance reviews to support operating
procedures and capturing proper documentation
o Prepare draft status reports and presentations for technology prioritization board
meetings with Senior Management
o Responsible for the facilitation of the Technology Review Board and preparing
presentations for senior management; serve as acting as Secretary for the
Prioritization Board.

Required Education & Experience

o Previous exposure to maintaining large cloud based systems like Workday,
PeopleSoft, Kronos, or Cornerstone is highly desirable.
