approximately 13.5cm (5.5 inches) in height.

What you’ll need


 Crochet hook size 4.0mm (US size G)
 DK / Light Worsted weighted yarn in brown, light brown, and white colours
 Polyester fibre filling (for stuffing)
 A pair of round eyes (6mm)
 Stitch marker, tapestry needle, scissors and sewing pins

Instructions
Unless otherwise stated, all parts are made working in rounds without joining. A stitch marker is used
to mark the beginning of each round and is moved as your work progresses.

Head and Body


Using light brown coloured yarn.

Round 1: sc 6 sts – using either the (ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook) or (magic circle)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around = 12 sts
Round 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) x 6 = 18 sts
Round 4: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) x 6 = 24 sts
Round 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) x 6 = 30 sts
Round 6: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) x 6 = 36 sts
Round 7: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) x 6 = 42 sts
Round 8: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts) x 6 = 48 sts
Round 9: sc in each st = 48 sts
Round 10: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 7 sts) x 6 = 54 sts
Round 11: sc in each st = 54 sts
Round 12: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts) x 6 = 60 sts
Rounds 13-22: sc in each st = 60 sts (10 rounds)
Round 23: (sc2tog, sc in next 8 sts) x 6 = 54 sts
Round 24: sc in each st = 54 sts
Round 25: (sc2tog, sc in next 7 sts) x 6 = 48 sts
Round 26: (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts) x 8 = 40 sts
Round 27: (sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) x 8 = 32 sts
Round 28: (sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts) x 8 = 24 sts

Insert eyes 11 rounds up from neck (into round 20) with 8 sts in between the eyes.

Rounds 29-30: sc in each st = 24 sts (2 rounds)
Round 31: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) x 6 = 30 sts
Round 32: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) x 6 = 36 sts
Round 33: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) x 6 = 42 sts
Round 34: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts) x 6 = 48 sts
Round 35: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 7 sts) x 6 = 54 sts
Round 36: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts) x 6 = 60 sts
Rounds 37-40: sc in each st = 60 sts (4 rounds)
Round 41: (sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) x 12 = 48 sts
Round 42: (sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts) x12 = 36 sts
Round 43: (sc2tog, sc in next st) x 12 = 24 sts
Round 44: (sc2tog, sc in next st) x 8 = 16 sts
Round 45: (sc2tog, sc in next st) x 5, sc in next st = 11 sts
Round 46: (sc2tog, sc in next st) x 3, sc2tog = 7 sts

Stuff head and body with fibre filling firmly as you go.

Fasten off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to weave the tail through the front loops of the remaining 7
sts and pull tight to close the opening with a knot. Weave in the yarn end.

Arms x 2
Using brown coloured yarn.

Round 1: sc 6 sts – using either the (ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook) or (magic circle)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around = 12 sts
Round 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) x 5 = 15 sts
Rounds 4-6: sc in each st = 15 sts (3 rounds)
Round 7: (sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) x 3 = 12 sts
Rounds 8-13: (change to light brown coloured yarn) sc in each st = 12 sts (6 rounds)

Finish off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to secure lightly stuffed arms to each side of body at the
neck (round 29).

Legs x 2
Using brown coloured yarn.

Round 1: sc 6 sts – using either the (ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook) or (magic circle)

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around = 12 sts
Round 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) x 6 = 18 sts
Round 4: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) x 3 = 21 sts
Rounds 5-7: sc in each st = 21 sts (3 rounds)
Round 8: (change to light brown coloured yarn) (sc2tog, sc in next 5 sts) x 3 = 18 sts
Round 9: (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts) x 3 = 15 sts
Round 10: (sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) x 3 = 12 sts
Rounds 11-14: sc in each st = 12 sts (4 rounds)

Stuff legs and finish off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to secure legs to bottom of body (round 40).

Snout
Using white coloured yarn.

Round 1: ch 5 + 1 = 6 chs
Round 2: sc in second ch from hook and in each of the next 3 chs, 3 sc in last ch from hook.
Turn work clockwise and sc in next 3 chs, 2 sc in last ch = 12 sts
Round 3: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in last 2 sts
= 18 sts
Round 4: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in last 3 sts
= 26 sts
Round 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) x 2, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in
next st) x 2, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts = 32 sts
Round 6: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) x 2, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 9 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc
in next 2 sts) x 2, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 9 sts = 38 sts
Rounds 7-13: sc in each st = 38 sts (7 rounds)
Round 14: sc in next st, sc2tog, (sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog) x 2, sc in next 9 sts, sc2tog (sc in next 2
sts, sc2tog) x 2, sc in next 8 sts = 32 sts

Finish off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to secure to the front of the head. Stuff the snout as you
sew it in place.

Patch and Mane


Using white coloured yarn.

Round 1: ch 4 + 1 = 5 chs
Round 2: sc in second ch from hook and in each of the next 3 chs = 4 sts, ch, turn work
Round 3: sc in each st = 4 sts, ch, turn work
Round 4: sc in each st = 4 sts, ch, turn work

Round 5: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st = 6 sts, ch, turn work
Round 6: sc in each st = 6 sts, ch, turn work
Round 7: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st = 8 sts, ch, turn work
Rounds 8-14: sc in each st = 8 sts, ch, turn work
Round 15: (change to brown coloured yarn) loop st in each st = 8 sts, ch, turn work
Round 16: sc in each st = 8 sts, ch, turn work
Rounds 17-44: repeat rounds 16 and 17 until end (total 14 rounds)

Finish off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to secure to the face above snout (in between the eyes) and
to the head finishing at the back of the neck.

Ears x 2
Using light brown coloured yarn.

Round 1: sc 4 sts – using either the (ch 2, being work in 2nd st from hook) or (magic circle)

Round 2: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) x 2 = 6 sts
Round 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) x 2 = 8 sts
Round 4: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) x 2 = 10 sts
Round 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts) x 2 = 12 sts
Round 6: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts) x 2 = 14 sts
Round 7: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts) x 2= 16 sts
Round 8: (sc2tog, sc in next 6 sts) x 2 = 14 sts
Round 9: (sc2tog, sc in next 5 sts) x 2 = 12 sts
Round 10: (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts) x 2 = 10 sts
Round 11: sc in next 5 sts

Finish off, leaving sufficient yarn remaining to secure ears to each side of top of the head.
