Systemair Fire Air Grilles

Fire resistance class EI160; EI190, EI2120, E120 and EW60

Ordering codes Description and Usage

PVM-
PVM fire air grille serves as a fire closure between two
Nominal dimensions L×H fire sections without having to use an extra connection
duct. It is embedded firmly into the fire partition
ZV structure. In case a fire occurs, the grille’s blades close
DV1
Type DV7-T and DV9-T the opening and prevent the fire from expanding
into the next fire compartment. PVM have been tested
Surface treatment of the outer grille in accordance with the EN 1634-1:2001 regulation
(by default RAL 9007)
and classified in accordance with the EN 13501-2:2005
regulation as EI190, EI2120, E120 and EW60.
The servo-operated versions have been classified
NOTES:
E = Casing integrity
as EI160, EI2120, E120 and EW60.
I = Thermal insulation
On demand we deliver to the PVM perforated plates for esthetic reasons.

Operating Conditions

in compliance with the EI performance regulations.
PVM fire air grilles are intended to be embedded into fire
partition walls.
The active fire-proof sealing must not be exposed
to direct contact with water. Allowed is only purge

uniform flow, without condensation, ice coating and ice.
The device is not actuated until the ambient temperature
reaches 65°C. In case of need of adjustment for higher
temperatures in the workplace it is necessary to consult
such demands with the producer and indicate them
in the purchase order accordingly. PVM grilles are
designed to be used in vertical supporting constructions.

The frame (1) is made of a zinc-plated structural steel.

Fig. 1: PVM without a servo
There are blades with a horizontal rotation axis (2)
in it. Dividing insulation blades are made of calcium-
silicate boards. The blades close themselves in opposite
directions, triggered by a closing mechanism (3) (shifter
and spring), or (servo and shifter) (3+4b). The blades
1 are kept in an open position by a fusible thermal link
4b (4a) until the ambient temperature exceeds 74 ± 1,5 °C.
In servo-operated versions, the blades are kept in an
6 open position by the servo itself and are closed
by a built-in spring.
2
The protective grating (5) prevents contact with the
blades’ surface (which has a higher temperature when
7
a fire occurs) and creates an air gap between the blades
3 and the grating at the same time to enable air flow
which cools down the blades’ surface.
