“Muscular System”

Muscular System plays a big role in our body because its main function is to serve body
movements. If we do not have muscles in our body we cannot do the things we are
doing right now, we cannot stretch our hands, our limbs as well as the other part of our
body. It also consist of different kinds of muscle tissues known as Cardiac muscle and
Smooth muscle which is considered as involuntary muscle as we all know we cannot
control muscles with those body parts, and last is skeletal muscle that is voluntary,
since we can control the movement. There are 600 muscles in our body. I am only
familiar with the biceps, triceps which I know when I am doing my workout. Muscular
system not only serves for our body to move, it also help in blood circulation throughout
our body.
I love this kind of activity where we are tasked to do a reporting and after, we will create
a reflection paper because with this I am gaining new knowledge which I can impart to
other people. The kinds of diseases they told us are very new to me, I’ve never hear
before. Nevertheless, the group of Ms. Alvarez helps me to understand and familiarize
what are the possible diseases we can acquire whether it is within genes or other cause
of it in the muscular system.
They clearly pointed out the main points of the topic. The comparison of the Normal and
Abnormal Cells, what age are the possible person that can acquire/have those kind of
diseases, the cause and symptoms and the treatment. But most of the diseases they
had presented have no specific prevention and treatment. In addition, they didn’t make
their own video rather they got it from ted talk if I am not mistaken, yet it is very
informative and understandable.
In my opinion, it is better if they searched for some diseases that there are specific
prevention and treatment because I believe that there are many more muscular system
diseases. As well as their video presentation, I also believe that they can make their
own video presentation, they can edit, do voice overs and other that can make their
presentation much better. But in overall I am happy that they finished their report very
smooth and interesting.
Listening to them made me more aware how to protect our body from worse scenario
that may happen if we do not know what to do. Sometimes we can feel muscle aches or
body aches that we do not know what is really happening to us, but because of the
reporters we can now know what to do if that happens. Always consult your doctor if
you feel something strange within your body.
