Please answer all the following questions (250 words or less for each question):

1) How, and in what way, do you relate to the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah?

 The Sunnah strengthens what is mentioned in the Qur’an. For example, in the
Qur'an there is a story related to the pillars of faith, namely things or things that
involve aqeedah as Allah SWT says:

“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the
believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His
messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they
say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final]
destination." [Al-Baqarah: 285]

 The Sunnah describes in detail what is mentioned in the Qur’an. For example, in the
Qur’an Allah SWT has commanded us to establish prayer. But the way to perform
the prayer is not explained in the Qur’an, in fact it is explained or explained in the
sunnah. Allah SWT says:

“And establish prayer and give zakah and obey the Messenger - that you may receive
mercy” [An-Nur: 57]

 In the hadith, the Prophet SAW has explained in detail about how to establish
prayer:

“He (the Holy Prophet) said: When you get up to pray, recite takbir, and then recite
whatever you conveniently can from the Qur'an, then bow down and remain quietly in that
position, then raise your- self and stand erect; then prostrate yourself and remain quietly in
that attitude; then raise yourself and sit quietly; and do that throughout all your prayers”
[Muslim]
2) How does Islam, and the Islamic way of life, affect you?

 Prayer
Prayer is an act of worship that can bring people to something very close to God.
Prayer can adorn and beautify a person with admirable morals and a healthy mental
mind, such as being honest, trustworthy, keeping promises, being fair and so on.

 Aurah
Polite dress and covering the aurah is a mirror of a true Muslim. There are many
benefits of covering the aurah, among them are: it can avoid sin due to exposing the
aurah. Avoid slander, accusations or negative views and prevent the emergence of
lust of the opposite sex or same-sex
 Prohibitions
Islam provides guidance on what daily activities are haram (forbidden) and halal
(encouraged and beneficial). For example, consuming alcohol. The disadvantage of
alcohol is that it loses the sanity of the person who drinks it, the person who
drinks alcohol will be drunk (lose memory) lacks common sense, when man lacks
common sense mind, he will do things he is not willing to do while he is sane.
 Forgive others
As normal human beings, we do not run from mistakes, especially toward others.
Allah loves people who are easy to forgive, in the Qur'an Allah repeatedly
emphasizes how the people He loves are those who do not hold back forgiveness.
Forgiving can make us progressive people, that is, people who are not always glued
to the past. Forgiving is also an attitude to immediately get rid of envy and
resentment in the heart, so that our hearts remain clean.
3) How do you think Islam can be a positive contributor to contemporary society?

Believers of Islam are more well-kept, neat and have high manners taught in the Qur'an
and sunnah.

Islam not only provides guidance in the near future but also in governing the country
and the economy. The administration of the country will be better if the elected leaders
govern based on the teachings of Islam by being fair and honest and do not abuse power
in government.

From an economic point of view, Islam also advocates the concept of muamalat which is
a matter of sale and purchase that is allowed in the syariah. Among them is to conduct
business honestly and trustfully and stay away from usury practices. In addition, the
concept of zakat also helps the poor and the poor and other asnaf because zakat is
obligatory on every Muslim who meets all the obligatory conditions. Indirectly, this will
also make the country's economy stronger.

Apart from that, the application of the concept of amar makruf nahi mungkar in the
community can produce a society that is always concerned and help each other in
preventing evil. Social problems can also be reduced if each member of society plays
their respective roles.

Hygiene is also very much demanded in Islam. It covers personal hygiene, clothing,
accommodation and the environment. Personal hygiene is very much demanded in
Islam to ensure that the worship performed is accepted by Allah SWT in addition to the
health of the body. For this reason, every Muslim must perform ablution first before
performing prayers.
