 CORONAVIRUS AN THE COLOMBIAN ECONOMY

The coronavirus is several viruses which were discovered in the 1960s but the origin of
these has not been found at the moment, it has different diseases which can be
differentiated between a simple refractory or a severe breathing syndrome, Most of
these viruses aren’t dangerous if they’re treated on time. This virus can be transmitted to
people quickly because it is transmitted by breathing, when a person coughs, talks, or
sneezes, people around them can be infected by breathing boots coming out of their
mouth. The new virus that was generated this year has had several consequences in the
world, both in health and in economic terms between China and the rest of the world,
we can ask a question which is How is the coronavirus effect on the Colombian trade?

The new virus that originated in a city of China has already left 500 dead and several
infected people around the world, as a consequence of the virus the global economy has
been affected as companies in China are closed due to the virus, This not only affects
the economy of Colombia but the world, because many products are manufactured in
China and distributed around the world, China is currently in quarantine which means
that the economy is very affected.

Colombia’s economy would be affected if no solution is found to this virus, it would

have a negative effect on our economy due to the fall of oil as crude oil is distributed to
China, Not only would it be affected on the issue of oil but also in the marketing of
some products, some traders are concerned because of the Chinese closure in their
industry to export their products.

The price of oil affects the economy of Colombia as it is very important for our country
in the sectors of currency, fiscal situation, in the exports that the country has, many
Colombian merchants must expect this epidemic that is being presented in China, give
you a solution because if you would not have losses in trade, many companies have as
manufacturers of their products China because this country gives them good prices and
variation in quality of their products.

In conclusion, Colombia’s economy would be affected if there is no prompt solution

with the coronavirus, since the price of oil would affect our economy and the closing of
borders affects traders more and more every day, because they depend on the products
they import from China.
