Lesson 1
Lord, teach me to number my days, and
graph them according to Your ways.
Trusting to based me in Your plan, to
compliment our perfect diagram.
Subtract the points You don’t want for me,
and Add the values You have set for me.
Dividing the dividends accordingly, so I can
multiply them systematically.
Draw the lines I have to follow and
guide me properly with Your arrow.
Because sometimes I tend to be
irrational, yet all the while You want
me to be rational.
Well, I learned that life is like a slope
with its ascends and descends I must
Teaching me in the variables in life, is
just like solving problems all the time.
Life is indeed an infinite situation,
perfected by Your eternal
computation, and I am only a
miniscule projection.
Give thanks and praise to our

Activity 1: Paper Folding

2. Get a clean sheet of bond paper.
How many rectangles do you see?
Record it in the table.
3. Fold the paper in half. Then unfold it.
Count and record in the table the
number of partitions (smaller congruent
rectangles) into which the paper was
divided.
Activity 1: Paper Folding
4. Continue to fold the paper as
specified in the table. Fill out the table
with required information.

5. Observe certain patterns to answer

the following questions.

Activity 1: Paper Folding

a. What happens to the number of smaller
congruent rectangles formed as the number
of fold increases?
b. Can you express in exponential form the
number of smaller congruent rectangles
formed? How do the smaller rectangles
increase in number?
